I'm surprised about the comments about colledge from the defensive lineman. Bet we hear a response from him just like we heard about the white house.

Good find Pack93z. As a layman when it comes to OL, the article made it easy to understand.

And of course, this is good news. 🙂

So we are going to war with Clifton, Lang, Wells, Sitton, and Bulaga.

Newhouse is top backup at tackle and I suppose McDonald backs up both guard positions and center.

Whose the 8th guy on game day? I don't think it should be Sherrod, cause he is not ready to step on the filed yet. It is necessary for him to be on the 53 man roster though unless we do one of those POS fony injuries and IR him.

Playing Sherrod at guard is a big deal, not that he needs to play there, but the fact that he gets the reps. This allows him to get a better feel of the speed of the game and better understand what the guy next to him is doing. Look at the big picture. Anything we get from him the first half of the year is gravy IMO. My only concerns are that he turns out being an excellant LT and stays healthy. Trust in the coaches.

I also believe Lang will be a very good guard and our running game will improve.

I stated this in another thread.. but recapping here.. having Sherrod sit this year with Cliffy in place is the best long term thing that can happen to him.. he will learn the game yet keep his confidence for next season.. and if he is a player you want long term, it will light a fire inside him that he is sitting and that it shall never happen again.

When the coaches dictate Sherrod is better than Newhouse, then we can discuss having him replace Clifton. Until then, Sherrod is buried at the bottom of the depth chart.

And speaking of Clifton, I've left the big Hillbilly for dead more than once and won't ever again. Until I see him carted off the field with the big towel over his head, I'll assume he suits up the following week and goes about business as usual. We all thought Clifton gave us a big shitburger last year using the Redskins to get a bigger contract. He was worth every penny and more.
