The drops were terrible, but I've never blamed him much for the fumble. He got caught from behind by one of the best LBs in the league (Urlacher) who punched the ball out, and the ball magically stayed inbounds. It was a good play by Urlacher.

I agree with GoPack1984 that Jones would've been a better fit for either the Bears or Vikings than the players they ended up with.

The media focuses on the "top two / receiver tandem" That's bullshit. We hit 'em with our LAST wideout "on paper". James Jones was very instrumental in us winning that trophy, just like his QB said. I get a little pissed at the hyper-criticism of the young man. James Jones is a huge asset for this team, and imo, makes us the most dangerous team in the NFL in the passing game- in a "passing league".

Some of you f#ckers need to learn to embrace the value of a James Jones, imo.

Sure he frustrated at times, but he saved our collective asses at times too.

I'm thrilled with this development, it's perfect, and Cobb gives me wood, as long as James Jones was signed.

Watch--- As the season progresses this year, I'll bet that all will agree this was the "big-good-move" for the Pack. It's speculation, but I'm old and "know good" when I see it, in my own myopic, but more often than not correct, opinion.

This was good.

We do look pretty crowded at WR, but that can change in an instant.

I will be curious to see how people react to this signing if a Jones miscue loses an important game, though. I personally am not expecting Driver to contribute much this season, and while I am hoping it is his last season in Green Bay, I am guessing he will hang around two more seasons. Ted Thompson tends to keep players one year longer than I wish he would.

Driver is built like the proverbial brick shit-house, remains in absolute impecappable shape, plus he's a slot/inside guy---TT doesn't keep players one year too long, that's just you being a hyper-dick, which is of value, also. 😝 imo

Randall Cobb was drafted to replace James Jones? Interesting, I didn't know James Jones did any kick/punt returns and could play wildcat as an extra wrinkle. It begs the question, why would you draft a guy to replace a 27 yr old rather than to replace the 36 yr old? I'm failing to understand that logic, seems foolish tactical move if true.

Especially since James Jones is on the upside and Donald Driver is on the downside. One would think Randall Cobb would have been drafted more to replace Donald Driver than James Jones. Then again, I haven't seen Driver returning kicks/punts either. 🤷

Greg Jennings
James Jones
Jordy Nelson
Donald Driver
Randall Cobb
Brett Swain

then throw in
Jermichael Finley
Andrew Quarless

I like the Packers WR and TE oh and Ryan Grand and James Starks running the ball and that guy who throws it... what's his name??

This was a good move by the Packers and I think it's comical any fan of the Packers would disagree. More weapons for the passing game = good thing.

Remember, good defense and good passing game is what wins championships.

I said that Jones was drafted to replace Driver. I still stand by it. I was down on Jones at the end of last year but hoping he can prove me wrong and live up to his potential (I've also said JJ reminded me of Sterling Sharpe).

James Jones being drafted to replace Donald Driver makes a helluva lot more sense than Randall Cobb being drafted to replace James Jones, while Donald Driver is still on the team! I've likened James Jones to Sterling Sharpe as well. Except I don't remember Sharpe dropping nearly as many balls, in fact, I don't think he ever dropped a pass, haha.

Again, maybe this is wishful thinking on my part, but I really believe Edgar Bennett being the WR coach is going to help the WR catch and hang onto the ball better this year than the last two years. And again, I think Edgar Bennett is going to help James Jones the most of the group. I bet James Jones is 2nd in receptions on the Packers this season, excluding Jermichael Finley since he's not a WR.

I really don't see why. We drafted Cobb to replace Jones, at least partially. There's no way we're going to be able to have Jennings, Driver, Nelson, Jones, Cobb and Finley regularly on the field, like all of them should be.

Under that thinking of can't play them all, well, might as well dump Matt Flynn too because he can't be on the field when Rodgers is, at least not in any beneficial manner to the Packers offense.

I'm glad he's coming back.
Can't have too many good WR's. ONE injury, and then who do you put in? Jones helps keep the situation solid.

I love that he's staying. He's got talent, and we'll need it, 'cause I think Driver is done. I hope not, but I think so.

Jones has the most upside of any WR besides Gregorious. Jones is tough and a deep threat. You rarely get both in a WR. He just needs to work on his concentration, and hopefully you're right about E Bennett (whom I've always admired).

Yeah, Sharpe rarely dropped anything. It still bugs me to this day that he got injured before he could have locked in a Hall of Fame career.

beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.

Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
