It's true that Jones' options were drying up......other teams had some concerns about Jones' drops and were unwilling to pay him the kind of money he was looking for.

This is the first personnel decision I dislike this season. Oh, well, 1 out of 10 ain't bad. And maybe Cobb will bump Jones off the roster. Now that would be sweet.

Those UDFA wide receivers we brought in have to be really unhappy now.

Also with the Ravens signing him that means Ravens FA FB Le'Ron McClain probably need to find a new team. But McClain wants a shot at becoming a RB (and got over 900 yards one year when he was pressed into the role with the Ravens due to injuries).

Still waiting for another FB to join the list of FAs the the Packers have signed.

Can't really complain, just makes our offense just that much more sick. I like the upside of Cobb way more put Jones is still way better than other teams 4-5 guys.

I really don't see why. We drafted Cobb to replace Jones, at least partially. There's no way we're going to be able to have Jennings, Driver, Nelson, Jones, Cobb and Finley regularly on the field, like all of them should be.

He'll start as the return guy and the others will be a part of the big 5. What might be harder is splitting up time between Driver, Jones and Nelson... and keeping them all happy (because they won't be)... but gotta go with the hot hand...

Also does this mean less likely to resign Finley and/or Nelson next year?

Now we can trade him out of the division!

Glad he agreed to what the Packers offered. There were no upgrades on the market for the value we get Jones at. It's a known quantity of positive production that we get from Jones. And if signing this deal doesn't put the Packers at any disadvantage in any other deals, then why not keep Jones. Doesn't make our team worse by keeping him. I will really enjoy seeing our wide receiver roster list each game day: Jennings, Nelson, Jones, Driver, Cobb. I like that better than: Jennings, Nelson, Driver, Cobb, Swain.

Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Will there be a tracker on the ball or something?
Zero2Cool (1-Apr) : uh oh
Martha Careful (1-Apr) : Too bad camera's can't spot the ball as well.
Mucky Tundra (1-Apr) : So will the chain gang be gone completely or will they still be around as a backup or whatever?
