I project stats for a fantasy football website and I figured you guys would want to take a peek at some of the more prominent Packers.

Free Agency obviously has an impact on many players, so some of these could be subject to change. For example, James Jones is stuck right now because of his contract. Will he leave Green Bay? Does he go elsewhere? I'm figuring the latter, which is why Jordy Nelson's stats spike like they do.

I'll also put last year's projections up and the actual results, so you can see whether there is any method to my madness. Judge for yourself.

QB Aaron Rodgers

2010 Projections: 29 passing TDs, 4,213 passing yards, 4 rushing TDs, 268 rushing yards, 10 INTs, and 3 fumbles.

2010 Actual Stats: 28 passing TDs, 3,922 passing yards, 4 rushing TDs, 356 rushing yards, 11 INTs, and 1 fumble.

2011 Projections: 32 passing TDs, 4,192 passing yards, 4 rushing TDs, 300 rushing yards, 9 INTs, and 2 fumbles.

RB Ryan Grant

2011 Projections: 1,010 rushing yards, 25 receptions, 156 receiving yards, 8 rushing touchdowns, and 2 fumbles.

Note: I purposely left off anything from 2010 for obvious reasons. The sample size is too small to judge.

RB James Starks

2011 Projections: 544 rushing yards, 6 receptions, 40 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns, and 0 fumbles.

WR Greg Jennings

2010 Projections: 72 receptions, 1,222 receiving yards, and 10 touchdowns.

2010 Actual Stats: 76 receptions, 1,265 receiving yards, and 12 touchdowns.

2011 Projections: 75 receptions, 1,223 receiving yards, and 8 touchdowns.

WR Jordy Nelson

2011 Projections: 58 receptions, 831 receiving yards, and 6 touchdowns.

I thought I did his a year ago, but I can't find them. I think I drastically underestimated him, but his 2011 projections are eery similar to Donald Driver's 2010 projections.

TE Jermichael Finley

2010 Projections: 77 receptions, 1,006 receiving yards, and 7 touchdowns.

2010 Actual Stats: 21 receptions, 301 receiving yards, and 1 touchdowns. (4 games)

2011 Projections: 76 receptions, 1,022 receiving yards, and 5 touchdowns.

For what it's worth, I was a little worried I overestimated Finley in 2010. He was on pace to catch over 80 passes for 1,200-plus yards had he remained healthy. Ironically, I think I may have overestimated him again.

Packers team stats:

2009 10-7

2010 14-6

2011 19-0

I think the TD's for Jer Mike might be a little low. I figure he will have about 10. Over pretty good projections.

Not even giving DD enough love to project him? I don't think Jordy necessarily outperforms him.

My initial projections have him under 50 receptions though and he would finish fourth on the team in just about every receiving category. Driver is among my favorite Packers, but Jordy performed about the same as Driver a year ago. Plus, Nelson has improved in every year he’s been in the league.

Through the same span, Driver has regressed.

Porky - Freaking amazing! I can't believe how close you got. I'd love to see anyone try to get closer. I do think you are high on Aaron's yards. He won't throw for that many yards because he won't need to.

The stat I want to see is 30+ TDs. I could care less about yards.

4500 yards and 40 touchdowns. 18-1 and another Lombardi trophy. Grant 800 yds - Starks 500. I don't even care what receivers do what. They are blessed to play with Aaron and for McCarthey.

That is just scary how close your projections are. Do you get this close with every player/every season?

I see finley getting around 30 catches for around 300 yards and 4 tds before another injury. and after that the team will become unstoppable again because Rodgers won't be forcing the ball to Finley 🙂
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)
