Again.. the knock on Harvin is staying on the field. Can't be effective if you can't go.. because this or that hurts.

Isn't it great that we are comparing GB's 3-4th best WR to Minney's top one?

You mean GB's PROSPECTIVE #3- 4 WR.

Harvin is proven, whereas Cobb has yet to prove squat in the NFL.
I'm bettin' he comes up "short"

I don't get the short cracks on Cobb. Since his is the same height as Harvin. Since he actually weighs more than Harvin, we could crack on Percival for being a light weight.

NFL Combine

Percy Harvin
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 192 lbs.
College: Florida
Percy Harvin

Randall Cobb
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 191 lbs.
College: Kentucky
Randall Cobb

So Cobb is slightly shorter and a touch less weight and a whole hell of a lot less talent.
However, Cobb will gain the weight advantage , cause ridin" the pine will put on the pounds

As far as you calling a Harvin a "light weight"...ya right, that one will fly.

NFL.com player profile shows Harvin at 5'11" and 184lbs. The site I read yesterday nfldraftscout.com shows Cobb at both 5'11" and 5'10.25"and both 191 and 186 lbs. NFL.com player profile shows Cobb at 5'10" and 191 lbs.

Calling Cobb short for less than an inch difference is like calling Harvin lightweight for being 2lbs lighter.

I wasn't calling Harvin a lightweight. It was a ridiculous statement to illustrate how ridiculous the statements you made are. Harvin is as much a lightweight as Cobb is short.

I shouldn't have to explain that.

even if your #'s are right, it isnt a huge difference..one pound and one inch is nothing....

Unless your talking about a Viking fans "short comings" then yeah one inch is a lot

But main point, no real reason to argue over a inch or a pound

I like that video of the tds!! He is fantastic talent (thats serious)

As Pack said, he cant stay on the field so what good is he really?

Now...

Show me how many touchdowns Percy scored in ANY SB......

.opps SORRY!!

LOL... failing to see the humor in VR's antics and playful jocular nature is amusing as hell. Sorry.. but I truly find it humorous.

The underlying point holds true.. Cobb is just riding on potential right now.. Harvin has proven he can excel in this league.. when on the field that is. 😉

You know Shawn, 99.9% of Packers fans are very predictable....you're a .1% er.
I have never been able to lure you into my "let's pee in the cheeseheads cheerios" and see how many I can get riled up today, shtick.

I still have hopes for young Dexter, but as he is still in his 'rookie" season here, he's just not used to my brilliant and provocative thought process.
His "I shouldn't have to explain that" comment is right up there with "Oh ya, same to you".
But Dexter is an intelligent guy, and does show potential. I do however, expect to see improvement in the future.
I think that we need to get him to do a member interview..... let's see what makes Dexter_Sinister tick.

And LTF, well, we go back years. But c'mon Jim, you can do better than "Now...Show me how many touchdowns Percy scored in ANY SB".

OK, humor aside.
Cobb has the potential, there is no doubt about that.
And as I stated in my initial comment in this thread "Actually, it should be interesting to see how/if he (Cobb) develops", we will see what transpires for young Cobb.

And as to William Percival Harvin III , most excellent moniker that it is, I am very glad that he went with Percy. It just wouldn't be right to call him Bill.
But his migraine issue is of great concern. I really hope that he can somehow get rid of them.
A good friend of mine suffers from migraines and it pretty much devastates him when he gets them.
He is especially sensitive to light and sound, and it pretty much takes him down for the count.

Forgive me for being unimaginative...

No matter how many records AP breaks, or how many TDs Percy scores in a game...If they never win a SB, I will always bring that up 1st, cuz it is all that matters..

I'm not surprised that 5'10" is being called short and 5'11" is not, afterall I did read on this very board where 33" arms is SHORT, but 36" arms are LONG. 🙂

I don't think it's fair to compare Cobb to Harvin. Harvin is already a tremendous talent in the NFL. He also has more straightline speed, although I think Cobb is more versatile.

I think the comparison is interesting, though, when you consider how Harvin opened up the Vikings' offense. Cobb should be capable of expanding the playbook for the Packers in much the same way.

WR screens and quick outs, crossing patterns (the bane of many a defense), etc. will make this offense FEARSOME, especially when you think about how stressed the coverage will be already with Jennings/Finley/etc. stretching them out.

And as I've mentioned before, 5'10" is hardly an issue, especially when you have Rodgers delivering the ball.

dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
