Since you inquired, I'll jot down some sort of explanation.
My personal feelings on the color were it was a decent color car. I didn't have any issues with the color. Most cars I'd prefer black, but with that model the black cars looked distasteful in my opinion. Family and friends called it names like Barney, Purple Speed Racer, etc ... that I could have lived without, but it was an ice breaker on dates. 🙂 Most commonly I heard "hmm a man driving purple car, that says ur confident in your man hood" or something to that effect. I'm sure you'll say they were wrong it says I'm a fem who loves the Vikings in secrecy. 😛
