Coming this sunday and facing the Steelers who would you pick as your starter assuming you had the choice of:

Brett Favre (version of him in the year of 1997)
Aaron Rodgers (version of him in the year of 2011)
Glad To Be A Packers Fan.

Favre's more exciting.
Rodgers is more stable.

Our team needs stability.

I can't make an unbiased selection at this point. I voted Rodgers.

I liked Brett in the superbowl, but I think A-rod is the better q.b at the interception part, witch is key in this game.

Zero put it very well. Favre was exciting because he made a lot of "holy shit" throws. Rodgers does the same thing, but he makes them look a lot better, and a lot more knowledgeable. Much like Cutler, Favre would make throws that went into very tight areas, and could very easily go the other direction. Rodgers makes incredible passes at times, but very seldom are they in danger of being picked off. He is a very very smart young QB and he has just as much talent in his arm, if not more, than Brett did at the time. My pick is Rodgers.

If it's just for this one game, it'd be a tossup. Favre had the experience from '96 and that's a plus but ARod is more stable. If it's a question of "You get to have this one QB starting this sunday until said quarterback is traded/"retires"", I'd take ARod hands down.

I can't look back.
I will compare Brett to other retired QBs but not to the current QB.

In 1997, Brent already had a Superbowl victory under his belt, and that experience would be an invaluable aid to all the youngsters on this team.

But I still vote Rodgers, because he plays so damned well in domes (and because Brent's a weenie).

Since69, I assumed that "97 Favre" meant Favre in the 97 SB, which was the 96 season, meaning that at the time he didn't have a win. Either way, I take Rodgers. He will well-studied and plays even better in the big games, from what we've seen thus far in the playoffs.
