Ok so Rodgers had a great game against the awful Falcons secondary and he is a dome qb?

He's said himself that he loves playing in domes. We're a team that is talented enough to win in the elements but is truly built for fair-weather football.

Ok so Rodgers had a great game against the awful Falcons secondary and he is a dome qb? What about the game in Detroit? He is on top of his game but don't give me this dome thing. Oh and people seem to forget that the Steeler defense is built on speed also.

You know all last week I was annoyed with people discounting Atlanta's defense, saying they weren't that good and that's how you can explain the Packers going off on them. They were 5th in the NFL in scoring defense allowing a whopping 2 points more than Chicago did this season. They forced 22 interceptions which was 4th in the NFL. They were 14th in quarterback rating allowed with 82.2 as well. I'd hardly call their secondary awful.

Explain how he was bad? Jennings much? Slap ball back much? erase TD much?

Addressing the betting odds, I believe I read that they set them at even initially (for this game) and let the early or first bets dictate which direction it went.

Packers are a really fast team on Offense and Defense. If anything, you could say Packers are a Dome team, not so much Rodgers is a dome QB.

I mentioned this prior to the Falcons game, because I heard it on the radio, didn't come up with it on my own.

I did buy into it and thought if we could win against Seattle/Chicago, we could beat anyone and was thinking the Patriots would be a good match up. I think our defense could shut their offense down and I don't think their defense could have done anything other than watch us air it out.

Ideally, we'd make Lambeau a stadium with a retractable roof. I really don't think that the weather conditions in Wisconsin really help us that much. Same goes for a team like the Bills. They have such cold weather and such strong winds going through that stadium that, at times, you pretty much can't pass the ball.

Then again, the biggest thing is making money. A retractable roof is horribly expensive and every single game at Lambeau is sold out, anyway.

I might be wrong but I always thought the Vegas Oddsmakers base the line on analyzing statistics, history, etc. and then gamblers move the line accordingly if they start betting heavily on one side. I don't mean to say they sit there and look at every little thing but I would guess that the Dome thing favors the Packers. If the game was in Kansas City, I would guess it'd be an even spread. But again, I don't know a whole lot about the odd-making.

ya I dont know but you could be right. I know that team home games are given an automatic -3; and this doesnt have anything to do with whom picks whom to win etc ...

I'm not sure if this is true. I always thought that the three points for a home game thing was more like a rule of thumb than something that is done automatically.
