The game against the Eagles had to be some kind of low point for our wide receivers. Here are their numbers:

Driver: 5 catches for 56 yards
Jennings: 1 catch for 8 yards
Jones: 1 catch for 9 yards and a TD
Nelson: 0 catches

Meanwhile, the RBs, FBs, and TEs combined for 11 catches, 107 yards, and 2 TDs. I think it's safe to say that the balance will swing back the other way against the Falcons.

I think the Starks run for 18 yards relatively early in the first quarter set the tone for the gameplan. Had he not been effective, I think those numbers would have been a whole lot different.

I think plan A was the "Balanced offense" gameplan, had it not worked, we probably would have seen plan B - situational running with a heavy dose of passing. Needless to say, I prefer it balanced.

Jones obviously should have had another catch, for 40+ though.

Im wondering if the wind and cold condition had something to do with the receivers not getting the ball as much ...

Im glad at least we got more of an option vs chicago ... with starks

Jennings dropped 2 and Driver dropped 1. Along with Jones, that is probably close to 100 yards in receiving they dropped.

It's encouraging that MM appears willing to go with what is working at the time rather than be a slave to preconceived gameplans. This couldn't be coming at a better time since, presumably, the Falcons will be watching a lot of tape of the 20-17 game, and the Philly game. In one game we rushed for about 60 yards and passed for 340, and Philly was about a 50-50 mix.

The damn dirty birds won't know what's coming!

I think the receivers, especially Jennings and Jones, will be highly motivated to perform in Atlanta after their poor showing in Philly. I hope the Packers can get a running game going, but I don't expect them to be as successful with it as they were in Philly.

Rodgers had 3900 odd yards, and a rating of right around 102. I wonder what his rating would be if half of the drops this season would have been completed. Even take away the YAC. Just catches. This season has been unbelievable for drops. Just horrible. One of these times, it will cost us dearly. We thought losing to the Lions from drops was bad. It could cost us the playoffs, or even the Super Bowl.

I know how to fix it.

When Freeman was playing, he dropped a lot of easy catches and made the tough, circus ones. Then a DB speared him and broke his arm. He played with a cast on and really had to concentrate on catching with his hands.

He became a much more dependable receiver after that.

Lets take all the receivers out back and break their arms.
