I truly thought he would make it to 300.

Counting the playoffs he's actually at something like 321.

Although Favre has done all but sell his soul for an Elway-style finish, his body of work as a Packer will never be undone. This record maybe one day numerically surpassed, but it will never be equaled by another.

I know we've had our differences Brett, but I love you. You've been my hero for more than half of my life. Congratulations on a Herculean achievement and the most exciting and entertaining career of any pro athlete, ever. 297 in a row. Unbelievable. I'm proud of you for manning up today and doing something I thought you were incapable of doing; sitting one out. I hope we can be friends again real soon.

Great streak and Great career. Favre is one of the if not the toughest QB to ever play the game. That has defined him. Yeah, this season hasn't been that great, but he was a dominating player for two decades. People will pile on because it is easy to do that when someone is down, but his career speaks for itself.

I'm kind of sad to see the streak end this way. It's been a tremendous accomplishment. To put it into perspective--for me at least--the last time he didn't start I hadn't yet turned 4 years old. Today, when the streak finally came to an end I am preparing for finals as a senior in college. It's lasted longer than the entire span of my memorable life.

For all his gracious words in the post-game news conference, NFL.com certainly didn't do him in any favors in the picture of him watching Jackson walking off the field that they posted on the front page today.

I added the 321 number as a sub-heading for the thread. I don't know why that's not the usual number. As if the playoffs don't count....

Probably because those games weren't consecutive. He didn't play in the playoffs every year. The regular season streak is consecutive and contiguous.

Sad to see it, great streak, I don't think he will ever be surpassed as the "ironman". Manning will probably break the record but its not the same. Manning never took hits like Favre, always has fantastic O-lines, plays in a dome and has never really played through a significant injury. I've never seen a clip of Manning running through or into LBs, etc. Favre's one tough (and probably lucky) SOB.

I'm more disappointed in the actual game. All of these people screaming for Jackson can now calm down a bit at least. I was actually hoping Favre does us one last favor and plays the rest of the season and the Vikings somehow re-sign Jackson to "see what he has". But now they know more than ever how garbage he is.

Plus a Giants win sucks. Giants being 9-4 is trouble for us.

Plus T-Jack v. the Bears next week. Great, what do you think the chances of a Vikes win are? You can tell the team just gave up as soon as Favre was inactive and T-Jack was in. If we lose next week and the Bears win, I think they clinch the division? They'd be 10-4 with a 5-0 division record, we'd be 8-6 with a 3-2 division record. Be careful what you wish for I guess...

The team gave up? I disagree. I thought the defense was amazing last night. They were hitting hard, wrapping up, beautiful form tackling, stuffing the run behind the line of scrimmage. The offense may have been lousy, but the defense came to play.
