I always thought that Vick had a chance to come back if he played all his cards right. Dude has too much talent for some desperate team not to take a chance on him.

Whether I like it or not, it's the NFL and the most important thing is winning games.

All I know is that if dude didn't get his bell rung on that chin shot - if all that really happened was a cut on the chin? That ain't the guy I watched and cheered for for 19 years. A cut on the chin? Seriously? He looked like he was about to freaking die, and he left the game at a crucial moment - and then they say it was just a cut on the chin?

That was either a concussion, or Brett's really losing it - and faster than I would ever have imagined.

Good point. Only for one thing. Brett looked white as a ghost after that cut. When we saw that he was bleeding (I think when we saw the inside of his chinstrap), that excused him from the game and legitimately. Some people when losing blood, or the sight of them losing excess blood, get pale, light-headed, and sometimes faint. I'm like that, even though the thought or sight of blood doesn't bother me consciously, apparently subconsciously it affects me.

Chances are Brett's the same way.

Really Formo? You look pretty butch in your avatar.

I see what you are saying Cheesey but I still think a lot of people like to see what they want to see in order to prove a point. For example, this is Favre's last 4 playoff games (2007 and 2009).

80/128, 953 Yards, 10 TDs, 4 INTs, QB Rating of 98.

I don't know, that's pretty good. He's not Mr. Playoffs and I would much rather have Tom Brady over Brett Favre for a playoff game any day of the week but those are not horrible numbers.

"RedSoxExcel" wrote:

Those are pretty good numbers. Not Montana numbers, but still pretty good. I'd take Brady and Montana over Favre because of how they do in Playoffs vs how Favre does. Favre was excellent in the Playoffs under Holmgren, pretty bad under Sherman, awesome in one game under Mike McCarthy and lousy in the 2nd game under MM. Same with Chilly, 2 Playoff games - 1 awesome, 1 lousy.

I don't think Brett is one to faint at the sight of blood. What i think was, the injury hurt a hell of alot more then we all can imagine. I bet his entire jaw, and teeth hurt. He's not the 'wussy" type.
I just think it was alot more painful then just a cut chin.

Redsox.......i know what you are saying. The playoffs are the hardest times to win. Favre has had some decent games. But that's what a big time QB does. Takes the team on his back if he has too. Favre made it to the playoffs many times, but when he needed to REALLY win, he didn't seem to have it. Heck, Desmond Howard and Reggie White had as much to do with the Packers winning SB 31 as Favre did. They both played HUGE when it was needed.

The cut required 8 stitches. You can't really just tape that up and go back on the field.

Plus i believe that NFL rules state that a player that is bleeding HAS to be taken out of the game, until said bleeding is stopped.

Maybe. But how pale he looked and how he needed help off the field tells me otherwise. I know that feeling all too well.

beast (10h) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (10h) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (10h) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
beast (13h) : I wonder what's taking so long with hiring a DL coach, 2 of the 3 known to interview have already been hired elsewhere.
