I am astonished no one has started a topic about this. This is quite huge here. Cutler signed a $126 million contract recently and now he is benched! This is just not something that happens. What I thought when I heard it is what others are saying too. He's benched to prevent him from getting injured so they can trade him.

The Bears are just pitiful.

I can't think of any team that would trade for him, especially with that contract.

I don't dispute that the Bears are pitiful, but I really don't envy them or any team that has to deal with this.

There are few exceptions of teams that can get by w/o an elite QB in this league and it's incredibly hard to find one. Cutler really should be, but the grey matter between the ears is ruining it for him. We're incredibly lucky with the 20+ year streak of QB play we've had and that's arguably the reason we haven't been the Lions and 'Queenies over these years.

He's making about 22 mil this year and I believe 15 mil even if he's not on the roster next year? What a life!

Sucks being the Bears, which makes my day.

2015 he would count 16.5 million against the Bears Cap. If he is traded or cut. That would increase to 19.5 unless they use the June 1st Designation which would still only save them 2 million of that for 2015.

If only we could trade them Flynn for the remainder of the season for a draft pick.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

Cutler is actually having one of his best years. This is indicative that the issue is more than just Jay. Benching him, releasing him or trading him (which they really can't do until AFTER next season) doesn't solve the problems with the team.

The thing with Cutler is whether or not he is coachable, and nothing in his resume would suggest he his.

How desperate could a team possibly be to trade for a head case like him with a contract like that?

This is the WORST news for the packers to date this year and next!

What do our DBs say? - they love catching the ball when cutler is at the helm.

Can't help but wonder if Cutler ends up on the injury report, with splinters in his butt.[grin1]

Mucky Tundra (3-Jun) : @ByRyanWood How much did the injury affect him last fall? “A lot.”
Mucky Tundra (3-Jun) : @ByRyanWood Kenny Clark said he had foot surgery in January. Injured his foot in opener against Eagles and played through it all year.
Zero2Cool (3-Jun) : Golden is wearing guardian cap again. I bet he plays with it on too.
Mucky Tundra (3-Jun) : All the stuff I'm reading from Lions fans are pointing at his toe; he more or less has permanent turf toe in one of his big toes
dfosterf (3-Jun) : Kenny played through it, and a shame he gets little credit for that, imo
dfosterf (3-Jun) : Big men. I hope it's not the undoing of Kenny Clark

Mucky Tundra (28-May) : I haven't watched the pregame shows in years and I don't feel like I've missed a thing
Zero2Cool (28-May) : Love says knee affected him all season, groin injury didn't help matters.
Zero2Cool (28-May) : I used to enjoy him on FOX Pregame. Now it's like a frat party of former Patriots.
Zero2Cool (28-May) : LaFleur on Watson: “Christian is doing outstanding. I would say he’s ahead of schedule.”
Martha Careful (28-May) : Bradshaw is a dumb ass cracker. I am so tired of his "aw shucks" diatribe. He should shrivel up and go away.
buckeyepackfan (28-May) : He wad all butt hurt because Aaron duped the media saying he was immunized.
buckeyepackfan (28-May) : Bradshaw needs to retire. He's been ripping on Rodgers ever since the covid crap. He was all hury
Zero2Cool (28-May) : Terry Bradshaw doesn't want Rodgers in Pittsburgh lol wow
Zero2Cool (27-May) : one day contract, which he also feels is pointless, but if Packers came to him, he would
