I think it's humorous how Finley88 completely missed the OP's point.

No one seems to say yes or no on my OL comments, but I'll throw another one around again.

True or False.
It's easier to run to the right than it is to the left for the OL?

Well, think about it. The majority of the time the whole offensive line is right-handed and the whole defensive line is right handed. I would assume that players would be stronger moving to the side that is dominant. That means that not only is the offensive live playing to their dominate side the defensive line is forced to their weak side. Of course that's just a subtlety but I'm sure it has some kind of impact.

Depends on the line. If I remember correctly, we had more success with Ahman Green running left. But that was a long time ago.

I don't know if this is true at least not all the time. If I was going against the 96' Packers, no way do I want to run towards Reggie. Depends where the defensive stars are.

I agree that Rodgers does not trust the O-line. I don't think McCarthy trusts them as much as he used to either, as there seem to be more rollouts, but I could be wrong about that.

As for the question of running to the left or right, I would say that more often you run to the side with the TE, or the side with the best blockers. Usually that is the right side, yet the Packers seem to run to the left more often than the right. I have no idea why.

The line is part of the problem.. but the problem is deeper IMO.

You have a team that telegraphs the play well ahead of the snap.. by sets. Although we seen some adjustments last week to that. When we run.. it is very clear that we are going to run, by set. Two backs.. Tight end heavy to the run side.. sometimes set, sometimes motions in.

Then we go to spread sets.. and they know we are going to pass...

This gives the pass rush the advantage, they can jump the snap and apply even more pressure to our aging tackles and they can set up the blitzes without much concern of the run.. draw or run from those sets to pause that pass rush and give the DC a thing or two to worry about in his blitz calls.

What else are the defenses doing.. watch Orakpo from Sunday.. they line up wide to put even more pressure on the tackles to get out of the stance, get deeper and more often than not; because they are aging and can't move their feet well enough then reach, put them in poor leverage positions.. making the rushers job easier as well. An occasional draw or run from those sets would help that as well.. forcing them to respect the defensive gaps and pull them in.. or watch us run up that split all day long. Doubt that.. watch the more athletic Bulaga handle that drop effectively verse Clifton.

We have tackles outside that are aging (starters), we have a left guard that at times has a loss of focus.. why give the defense any advantage over something we control.. play calling.

I have yipped about this for weeks.. we need not become a 50/50 club in run verse pass.. but we need to have it called enough to help balance it up some and assist our offensive line out. It is the art of when and out of similar sets that, in my opinion, is lacking.

The games within the games, utilizing your playcalling on offense to assist your weaknesses on a club.

This is true.

I shouldn't be able to sit next to my friend, watch the game, and predict pass vs run with a 80% success rate.

Next to the packages, the personel shifts are so obvious, as well.

We go from a 3-wide set with Jennings - Jones - Driver - Jackson - Finley on one play to a 2 WR set with Nelson - Jones - Lee - Grant - Kuhn the next. And it's as good as never to catch them off guard. We don't throw out of that second formation and we don't run out of that first.

This team has so much potential to do creative stuff on offense. Why not empty box by going 4-wide, under center, with Jackson 5 yard deep.

They'll think twice before getting cute with the safeties. You don't let your safeties sneak up with Jennings going one on one on one side and Driver on the other. Especially not if your 3 and 4 are Nelson and Jones (Or Finley, when healthy). Take advantage of that receiving group and your great QB in more ways that just when passing. If the o-line is just halfway decent there, we should get some good yardage.

Take the inverted wishbone and pass out of it a couple of times. Just don't make it so fricken' predictable.

Or more specifically the fact that they have obviously lost the trust of Rodgers. This is just my opinion but it looks like Rodgers simply does not trust the line enough to stand there and go through his progressions before he tries to buy more time with his feet. I also believe this all started with the way Clifton and Tauscher kicked off the season vs Philly.

I think if Rodgers trusted the line more he would stand in the pocket and make more accurate throws to the open guy instead of whoever the designated #1 on the play is. As it stands he seems too busy having to watch his own back.

No one has lost trust anywhere idk what your talking about. And remember its not just are offensive line its the whole offense no one has lost trust if they didn't trust they would not block at all.We need to execute man don't blame it on one position group.

I want to see some positive threads but none has come instead of saying whats bad on are team or having doubt in them lets make a better thread its really annoying seeing so many of these don't get me wrong man you make some good points but lots of negativity for are team has come and it needs to stop.
