I saw the hit on the replay on the Jumbotron; he hit my arm and it popped right out, I might have been carrying it too low. We always talk high and tight, and I might have had it down too low where he was able to hit it.

This is one of the things that bothers me. I "might" have done this wrong or that wrong. Own it, you failed, deal with it. It happens.

There's no flat out, I did this wrong and I'll correct it by doing it this way instead of that way. It's always some shit about 'might' have done it this way or we 'may' have not played how we should have.

It's a weak mentality that seems to ride borderline excuses. With his fumble, there was no might, theres no maybe, he flat out held the ball too loose. Own it!

James Jones has similar comments last week too.

I really think this team believes because of the expectations many have about them, they don't have to put in the work or be accountable.

I'm not upset, or pissed, I mean, we did win, that's great. I just think we need a stronger mentality if we're going to beat the better teams in the league. We got beat by a Bears team that we should have won and we let the Lions stick around far longer than we should have.

I also attribute that to being a division game as those should be close games by default because of familiarity.

You screw up; you've got to move on. I know I will get plenty of work this week on ball security. It won't be fun for me, but it will be necessary.

To be fair, I just read the rest of the article and he did add that part.

I'll also give him the benefit of the doubt here and that the only film he's seen of those carries were a quick glance at the jumbotron, and he didn't want to say "I screwed X up" when he really screwed Y up. As far as my memory seems to know, he's not been a problem child with ball security, dropsies, or anything else so he gets a pass from me this time. Absolutely can't happen again, though.

I wish we had players who didn't look at the Jumbotron all the time.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

On one hand I agree. On the other I don't think locker room interviews and press conferences are a very good gauge of the mentality of a player, a coach, or a team. My opinion leans toward the latter.

My thoughts exactly silentio. Whether he choose to use 'might' vs. 'I f'd up' in front of reporters doesn't mean much to me. The players are often taught to be PC and somewhat vague, we're reading way too much into this.

On the coaches also, "high and tight" is taught from pee wee league on up. Possibly they are not stressing it enough. Two weeks in a row. They should be able to correct it.

Everytime Jordy handles a kick off I think he's going to fumble. Tell him to hold it high and tight, but his run style has not changed. He runs standing straight up. He has a high center of gravity and his ball security will be a question as long as he is running headlong into defenders without being lower or protecting the ball. Jones's fumble was easy to see the cause, as he was just holding the ball in his inside arm(Ahman Green style!!) so it was easy to force the fumble. Jordy's problem scares me more, and I see him fumbling more times this season.

Thanks to pack93z for the sig!!!

The second fumble was a direct cause of his cautious running, in my opinion. He cringed away from the hit and left himself vulnerable. Bad things happen when you play cautious. Sort of the MO of the team on Sunday all around.

Jordy's comments alone are not bother some. It's the collection that I've heard through out he young season. I feel more comments are sliding blame off their shoulders than should be.

I did like reading that mm thought we lost the game by the attitude in the locker room after the game, because many players were upset. That's what I want to hear. Because to me, that says 'hey we know were better than this and we need to be better than this'.

I fully believe the Packers are one of the most talented teams in the league right now, but if they can't work together and dominate the teams we 'should', then we'll have a tough time in the playoffs.

dfosterf (25-Jul) : Probably a homer access credential intimidation kinda thing
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Meathead "journalists" skip this, concentrating on operational revenue when convenient. They switch when net revenue is more favorable.

Zero2Cool (23-Jul) : Suppose if locker room is main issue, we sitting pretty
wpr (23-Jul) : I thought so Mucky. In those useless player polls GB always rates high overall. Locker is a part of it.
