Last week, I was disappointed in the offensive game planning. More runs than throws is unacceptable for a team that is a passing team.

However, this week it's almost vice verse. Don't get me wrong, I agree that they should of thrown at least 35-40 times a game.

But I don't understand why they spread the field on 3rd and shorts. I love it on 2nd and eights, but not on 3rd and short. They had to do that at least two or three times in this game. Run it in there with Kuhn or go to a different formation. Maybe the TE situation had something to do with it, but they still had two TEs.

Coaches need to make adjustments and coach situations. I'm not sure that was there in this game. I think it was for Washington. Injuries and all, that decided the game.

It's time for this idiot to be dealt with immediately. He and his teams are an embarassment. He's had 4 (or 5) years to field some decent special teams, make his zone running scheme work and to "clean up" the penalties and the same problems continue and they cost us games. He's either unable or unwiling to fix this and needs to go because of it. I can't watch this crap anymore. The guy's honestly making me nostalgic for Mike Sherman! At least his teams could run the football and cover a frigging kick.

Firing a coach mid-season is just stupid and has yet to work. (Buffalo Bills) Besides who on the staff would replace him, Dom Cappers? It's not like that hasn't worked before...

One call that stood out to me was the pitch to Kuhn. I don't get that call.......at all.

A mid-season firing is usually a last resort type of thing, such as when it is evident that the coach has lost the confidence of the players. I haven't seen that yet, with the notable exception of A-Rod's recent criticism of the offensive strategy. That's a huge exception, but at this point a mid-season firing would be an admission that the season has gone tits up, and that is not yet the case. I think he should finish out the season, and if we don't make the playoffs, then its time for seriously considering a change. And yes, even with the injuries. We're supposed to be this talent deep team, one of the reasons many hyped the Packers as SB contenders.

That's just my opinion, and I fully admit to having lost confidence in this bunch long before today.

I agree with porky. I was on my feet screaming at the TV every time they lined up in a spread formation, empty backfield, on 3rd and 2. I don't think it worked a single time they tried it.

I wish McCarthy had some better screen plays too. He should play to Jackson's strengths. A well designed screen play may have given that formation success on third down.

If we would have kicked the field goal on 4th and goal we would have won. Ouch.

It's that simple huh?

Let's say the score was 16 - 10 on the drive the Redskins kicked the tying FG.

Let's say the Redskins don't alter their play calling for that drive to aim for a TD instead of FG either.

Now its 4th and 2, on the 27 yard line. They're down by six with two time outs and just over a minute to go in the game.

You still think they kick the FG hoping to get the ball back and march down the field to get another FG rather than going for it on 4th and 2?

My money is on them going for it on fourth down, probably getting it and sadly scoring a TD with the end of the game being 16 - 17.

Oh, I get your line of thinking, you do believe that's what would happen and then Rodgers doesn't get a concussion in overtime because as you said 'Never would have went to OT' ...

I gotcha now Willis.

No, going for it on 4th and goal was undeniably the correct call. The fact that it failed does not change that fact. People seem to assume that when taking a risk fails, it invalidates the choice of that risk, but that's a false conclusion. There is always an acceptable chance of failure when any risk is taken.
