I don't think this has been posted yet...

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching the team pass much more than run, but an avg. of 3.4 per carry for the entire team, the feature back's LONG RUN was 6 with an avg of 2.6, and the longest run all day for the team was 12.

I've pointed out numerous times that Indy has been very succesful even w/ a pretty crappy run game, but this is pretty bad! Cause for concern???

I was tempted to use my dead horse here, but as The Mom's constant questions during her visit kept me from seeing much of the game, I won't.

I do hope those of you who were able to see more of the game will chime in on whether any problems in the running game were do to poor blocking or to poor running decisions by Jackson et al.

I've been saying one for awhile.... Jackson should not be a starter. Obviously, he is our starter by proxy, but I think that we will need to continue to give Kuhn the ball, as well as Nance. I was very UNimpressed with how Jackson did. It wasn't even like he had a particularly bad game, that's just how he is. He doesn't sprint up to the line, he casually jogs up, and waits for a hole to open, every single time. He needs to use more force.

When they actually gave Jackson some carries, I don't remember many holes being there. It seemed as if they wanted to run straight up the middle with him every time. I was hoping to see more outside runs.

Either way, they didn't give him enough carries to generate any kind of rhythm, imo.

I think Jackson's lack of success had more to do with poor offensive line play than anything. He's not good enough on his own to overcome that, but he's still our best option for #1.
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

I'm not trying to beat a dead horse with this. We were talking all last week about trading for Lynch (or whoever) and many said, "wait and see what Bjack can do." Well now is the time for assessment.

Kuhn 9-36 long of 12, bjack 11-29, long of 6. You need some sort of run game to win in the playoffs, and that's not going to cut it.

our running game really didn't look any different than it ever does with Grant, minus his one or two break-aways every few games. difference here is that it was being split up between 4 different guys whereas normally Grant would have gotten most of those carries and given y'all the false perception that he had a "good" game.

I agree with Twinkiegorilla.

I think we should give Jackson a couple of games before jumping to conclusions.

Heck we had some people come out of the woodwork proclaiming how Jackson should have been starting all along after his nice runs last week and now we have some others come out and say how Jackson is not worthy as a feature back. Let's all temper our reactions after only 2 games.

I thought Brandon Jackson looked terrible. Didn't look like he was confident at all and seemed to run conservative instead of explosive. I'm hoping he'll do better against the Bears.

I just read too that Brandon Jacobs from the Giants MIGHT be asking for a trade. I don't think he's our answer either.

Jacobs to seek trade

Here ya go. Agreed that he's not worth it. We already have fbs who can run, so how is he any different? Plus he's apparently a bit of a locker room cancer right now.
