AP is due. Got stuck the past few games. 24 rushes for 82 yards against the Seahawks and 25 for only 85 yards against da Bears. He's definitely due and it has nothing to do with facemasks. I just don't see AP getting shut down 3 games in a row.

I would bench Peterson for opening 1/4, 1/2 if not a full game. MN could afford it. With Chester sitting there, the team can still run the ball without Peterson. He has proven he can run the ball.

Seriously, though, the loss aside, I think the vikings showed a bit of character in the second half at least. After the first half I expected them to lay down and die, or Childress to go completely boneheaded, or Favre to revert to "chuck it and pray." None of those things happened. They lost; and, IMO, deserved to lose, the game. But I thought they played the second half like a playoff team.

There's another thread on AP v. Ryan Grant. I'm not going to get involved in that, but if I were Childress I know what I'd do next week. I'd start Chester Taylor and give him 90 percent of the first quarter snaps. And maybe of the second quarter, too.
