Good point, Zombie. I know that we all want an NFC East kind of division over here with 4 strong teams, but at least we have 2 strong teams. And 2 elite QBs. More than most can say.

Didn't know that Favre's yardage was that 'low'. After the last couple of weeks, I could've sworn it was approaching 4000 rapidly.

Don't think he'll get anywhere close to it now. If Chilly and Favre play this smart, he shouldn't get a more than 250 yards over these last two weeks.

I was going to argue that there's plenty of opportunity for Favre to get 500 yards (he could get really close in one really good game, actually).. But then I re-read what you said.. And I agree.. No reason for Favre to be throwing that much this late in the year.. The Vikings need to pound the rock with Chester and AP with Favre doing minimal throwing (15-20 attempts, max).

I agree with your whole post.

+1

They need to do everything they need to do to win out because Philly has the tie breaker and is one game behind. Without a first round bye, this team may as well not even show up to the playoffs unless getting embarrassed is something they enjoy. They need a full 2 weeks to figure out whats up with the running game and o-line issues. Plus, that will give the williams sisters(yes, you don't deserve a name like the Williams Wall when you get destroyed all night long vs Carolina) some time to load up on steroids and give Airhead Allen some time to rest up.

With one more game to go:

Brett 104.3 338 500 67.6 3886 259.1 7.8 29 7
Aaron 102.4 329 515 63.9 4199 279.9 8.2 29 7
Jay 73.6 314 519 60.5 3390 226.0 6.5 23 26
Matt 61.0 201 377 53.3 2267 226.7 6.0 13 20

Are Brett and Aaron interchangeable? Both of our teams run WCOs. Now granted, Aaron is a better scrambler but I think Brett is better at picking up blitzes.

What really amazes me is just how close in stats Brett and Aaron are. Don't forget Aaron's got rushing TDs and leads the NFL QBs in rushing yards. Brett however has almost no fumbles.

Jay and Matt I'm not discussing as they're kind of out of the picture.

I think what's more amazing is Aaron doesn't have a RB threat like Adrian to take the heat off him.

Why don't you go see the other thread, I don't need to. It's not that hard to grasp that if you have one of the best RB's in the league, it makes your passing game a bit more open than if you don't have one of the best RB's in the game. Who the hell is going against the Packers saying 'omg we need to stop Ryan and we have a chance' ... no one. Most teams going against the Vikings were saying something to the effect 'we need to contain Adrian and make them one dimensional to have a chance'.

Whatever.

It's been said many times this year including by Vikings players themselves that Favre is the biggest offensive threat, not AP.

Plus, I make it very clear I am prejudiced against RBs. A good RB to me is someone who is good at catching screens (Marshall Faulk) and doesn't fumble (Ryan Grant).

I've written numerous threads on running in today's NFL is no longer important. Don Coryell changed football forever. You don't need a rushing attack any more.

The simple point I'm making is not AP vs Grant but what the thread's title says - NFC North QB stats. I think Aaron and Brett are interchangeable. Do you agree or disagree?

Statistically it appears Favre and Rodgers are interchangeable. Realistically, I don't think so.

I think Favre with Grant would do far worse than Rodgers would if he had Adrian.

Cool. I just disagree.

We got better WRs and better TEs. They just have better RBs but not really by that much. The wild card in their RB set is Chester Taylor who I think is superior to Green/Jackson.

Their OL is better but really not by much.

Favre really blew it. We all know how much Favre loves TEs and we got much better TEs than they do. He'd be much better off with us than them. Also his chemistry with Berrian isn't that good. With their system, Berrian = Driver and we all know how good Favre's chemistry was with Driver.
