Remember all the offseason talk about how much he improved?

"Outstanding offseason".. was tossed about with the Packers organization.

Well I can tell you, I have been most disappointed by him so far this season.. I was expecting a step up.. but so far.. errrrr.. not good!


Come on BJack.. turn it around already.

Besides that drop that ended up being an INT, Jackson's looked as good as Grant. If anyone needs to step it up, it's Ryan Grant, not Brandon Jackson. Jackson's not the one getting the fat paycheck.

jackson's running game isnt all that bad if you look at his stats.

seriously though, I have been satisfied with Jackson. It's our pussy O and D line that I've had problem with. Beginning last season and carrying over to this season, the trenches have been what ultimately decide the games all over the NFL. That distinction belonged to skill players for a long time, and that's changing. If you can't win the trenches, you can't win the game.

I'm not very happy with Jackson, it seems to me he is not powerful enough to be a featured all-downs RB and he has bad hands to be a third down RB or a hybrid RB-WR.

His stats may be good but he has shown two huge problems so far:
- bad hands
- bad in pass protection (guys run past him as if he were a post)

When I see Jackson run.. I see a back that lacks vision in his running.. too often he just bangs it up in there.

I see a guy that isn't suited yet to be a lead back, yet isn't (as noted) sure handed in the receiving game to be a 3rd down back.

I am not saying he is awful.. but what I am saying is I am disappointed that he hasn't had the impact that the words spoken this offseason suggested he was projecting to have.


But then again.. behind this choppy line.. maybe it is just unfair to expect any of them to fair well.

As far as Grant.. no doubt he needs to pick it up big time.. thought that was a given.

Grant - 3.4 YPC

I'd almost prefer Jackson in there now on running downs. Neither of them are seeing what they want to see from the O-line, but Jackson at least has stayed up after the first tackler and has shown more of a burst.

Its hard to run behind a O Line that doesnt block. so I will give Jackson that. Just like I give that to Grant. but both of these guys have to step up. Jackson does not do a good enough job finding holes. Like Larry McCarrin said.. "Jackson has the nact for finding the wall" He said that last year..and it looks the same so far this year.

I think he's doin good so far, almost every other time i see him run he's makin cuts, usin good footwork, and atleast pickin up 5 or 6 yards. I think if we gave him like 25 carries this weekend, he'd have a few explosive plays.

I disagree on the idea that Jackson has been a disappointment. He's been relatively consistent and so far he looks better than Ryan Grant.

He had that huge run against the Lions on a 3rd down to help the Packers ice that game.

He had a couple of nice runs against Dallas.

Jackson's problems are lack of patience he has in the screen game and McCarthy not giving him the bulk of carries.

MassPackersFan gave a great stat. Jackson is averaging over 5 yards per carry. That's really good.
