what a throw by Ben Roethlisberger and catch by Mike Wallace.

Is that any surprise? The play started with :03 on the clock, and he didn't release the ball until well after time had expired.

I stand corrected about the previous play. It only burned 10 seconds off the clock, not 13.

But I can't be rational right now, so I'm going to go do homework.

By the way, when I criticize the playcalling, it's not because particular calls failed. I like or dislike those plays regardless of what the final outcome was. I didn't like the TD pass to Jennings despite the fact it had a good outcome.

The playcalling did leave something to be desired especially early on. I didn't like the 3rd and 1 call where they went deep. This was right after Rodgers took a shot where I thought me might have to come out.

The draw to Brandon Jackson makes little sense, but I'm a firm believer that 2.5 yards or less, and you should be under center and handing it off. Not in the shotgun where it's much easier to locate the back.

Still, 36 points deserves to win the game. Then again, so does 500 yards and if there is one thing to take from that type of shredding, Pittsburgh needed every single one of those yards to beat the Pack.

Also, How about the respect Mike Tomlin gave Aaron Rodgers and the Packers' offense?

This at least gave our players a taste of playoff type football.

The 3 man rush is the biggest disappointment to me.

The biggest worry going forward is that we have a kicker that can't be relied on.

Have to agree with porky on this one. While I was pissed as anyone with how it ended.
It was plain ol situational football. We lost not because of bad coaching.
We lost to the defending Superbowl Champs on thier turf.
We lost on a fluky day with a FG kicker who has a crisis in confidence. Whatever the cause I think that Crosby will be a goner if he doesnt get the shit out of his head and start making the makeable ones.
That I blame on Macs earlier insitance of 50+ field goal trys which clearly have affected Crosby's confidence.

We are down to our 4-6th CB on the back side of our depth chart. Against a team that can and will throw. We held there running game to under 70 yards.

Offensively we kicked ass. This team nor Arodg should hang thier collective heads for the gutty effort put forth on the field.

We are still a playoff caliber team IMHO we are still in it.
I am therefor I think.

It was a great game guys. Even though this loss hurt really bad, like the 4th and 26, this was NOT a playoff game nor a game we NEEDED to win to make the playoffs. So let's not feel too down on ourselves, and remember that there is still time for the Packers to improve on their mistakes & try to make a run in the post season.

I am with the general consensus here, and agree that the offensive play calling was fine. When we were down by 2 late, I just knew McCarthy was gonna play tight and go for the field goal, even though I was BEGGING them to air it out and go for 6. But he didn't. And then Jones makes that TD catch...amazing =p

Everyone needs to CALM DOWN about the defense. Remember, we actually had an interception and 3 sacks on that last Steeler drive. But 2 of the sacks and an int. didn't count because of PENALTIES! That drive never should have happened, we gave them too many free yards and too many free first downs. Our D just ran out of gas at the end, and they pulled out a couple helluva plays to take advantage of that...

I know a lot of people are putting the blame on Crosby, which may or may not have changed the game depending on playcalling in response - BUT IT IS HIS JOB TO MAKE FGs REGARDLESS - ESPECIALLY AT 34 FREAKIN YARDS!!!!

I was furious watching Ben pretty much take a nap in the pocket before throwing a pass. Where is the pressure? We know he makes mistakes under pressure, so CAPITALIZE ON THAT!

Early on there were several dropped passes, which resulted in punting rather than FGs and TDs.

Secondary played decent for the most part, but I saw some huge chances for turnovers.

I guess in the end, the pack didn't capitalize on oppertunities, and the Steelers got a couple lucky breaks to make big plays. (and I think that TD at the end will be painfully engraved in my mind for much time to come)

Also, I don't think you can blame a missed FG in the 2nd quarter for the loss.

I say this because the whole complexion of the game changes if he makes it. Maybe the Steelers go for it on 4th down in the red zone instead of taking a 2 point lead with a field goal? Or maybe we're winning late in the game, and we don't go for the TD to Jones? And the Steelers make a game winning drive anyway?

You win and lose as a TEAM guys. Sure, Crosby's miss was part of it. We all know he's struggling, the last thing he needs right now is more Packer fans pissed off at him. But we had too many penalties too, and too many big plays given up by the defense. (Ben fumbled too)

Actually add the piss poor review and over turn of the fumble by rothlesburger that was clearly a fumble. But the world champs general get world class chump calls going their way. We got away with a few too. But overall my impression of officiating was clearly in the Steelers corner.
I am therefor I think.

I counted 10 dropped passes.. For who knows how many yards and potential first downs.

Crosby's push right.

Those two reasons come to mind as why the Packers lose by one stinking point.

Great game from an entertainment value though.
