I've already stated my objection to the play calls. In so many situations in which we needed short yardage, we were throwing deep downfield. It made no sense, particularly when our quarterback was knocked down 5 times in his first 13 dropbacks. Of course a lot of those throws were off target -- he was having to get rid of the ball in a hurry.

On the bright side, Rodgers now has the same number of touchdown passes and touchdown runs as he did all last season.

But its only a few drives. I don't understand when people complain about play calls when we rack up 436 yards of offense and score 36 against the #4 defense at home. It doesn't make sense to me. Not every drive will be perfect.

We had ZERO points in the third quarter. We scored ONCE in the first quarter on a third-and-long that happened to turn into a miracle play. Three out of our first four possessions were three-and-out.

Sure, we ended up with a lot of points, but saying that means it was a well-coached game is like saying Roethlisberger is a great QB because he has two rings.

The whole thing reminds me of 4th and 26 and the TD to TO against SF. Of course they were playoff games but this gives me the same feel.

Put some pressure on the QB at the end.

Heh, azrunning, any time we have opposing offenses in third-and-forever situations, I always expect the worst nowadays.

Not to mention 4th-and-37 in the Tampa Bay game.

The packers moved the ball and scored a lot of points, doing what they did and put themselves in a great position to win. The steelers threw 2 fewer times than us, scored a mere 3 points in the 3rd but we're not calling them out for shotty play calling

The offense gave the defense a 6 point cushion with 2 minutes to go. This loss had little to do with them.

First off, what a game.

I thought it was a great game for any football fan to watch. Being on the losing end stings, but you have to appreciate the QB play this game had. Two great young QBs basically had at it and whoever ended with the ball last won the game.

I think the pass rush was solid in this game actually except for the last play. I don't know about a three man rush. Obviously, at the very least, sending four or five guys to force a quicker throw would've been a better call.

You still have to worry about a PI call though if you blitz because then Ben probably throws it up for grabs and refs in this game were calling everything.

On the flip side though, what a throw by Ben Roethlisberger and catch by Mike Wallace. Sometimes you just tip your hat. Ben played probably the best overall game of his career. I know some on this board don't like him very much and believe he's overrated, but for this day, he was pretty good to say the least.

If GB were to miss the playoffs, I'd look back at the egg against Tampa as the reason why. Not this game. I think offensively, both teams deserved to win and defensively both teams deserved to lose.

True Porky.
But it sure sucks to be on the losing end. Especially when our kicker SHOULD have got us points earlier that would have put the game in the W column for us.
I wouldn't be so hard on Crosby had this been a rare miss. But we can't count on him at all. He almost missed the extra point kicks today. What is he getting paid to do???
