It was mentioned that out of 90 years, the Packers have only 24 double digit win totals and it was a disturbing stat. As you all know, I'm a stat geek, I love looking stats up, so I dug into this one a bit.

From 1919 to 2009, we have played 1228 games, winning 671, losing 520 and 37 ties. that's 54 winning seasons, 28 losing and 8 .500 seasons.

Here's what I'm basing this off of, from Packers.com and NFL.com

Thats not as alarming as it sounds, just look at how many games were played in each season early on. There weren't even 14 games a year consistently until the 60s. Some years we didn't even play 10 games or only had 10 or 11 games. Look at the '20 and '39 season, we won 9 games in an 11 game season.

I think every year had about 10 or more except 2.

I don't really see it as disturbing that we have 24 seasons with ten or more wins.

What would be disturbing is if other teams played 90 seasons and 1200 games and won 800 or more for each franchise. Even that though would be mildly disturbing. I've always felt the ring at the end of the year is key, who won the last game of the season? I think that's most important. If we had gotten there four times and lost all four, that would be disturbing.

Well the first 20 years of my life I was happy if the Pack made .500+.

Same with me, Twins. I grew up in the 70s and 80s and the Packers were miserably bad. We made .500 and it was like being surrounded by hot nekkid women.

Looking at the decades, we ruled the 20s and 30s. 40s we started strong but tapered off. 50s were forgettable. We ruled the 60s. 70s and 80s, I was glad for teams like the Bucs and the Saints because at least we beat them. 90s we were good every year. 00s good every year except 2.

Good stuff, Zero.

Even if you take 1960 on where almost every team that is alive today started back then, we still have more Championships than everyone else. Well, I guess we're tied with the Steelers. Didn't we have 5 Championships in the 60s? That would be 6 to 6 as the Steelers have 6 since then. The Steelers have been around since '33. The Niners and Cows are next with 5 and the Niners have been around since '46. The Cows since '60.

I don't think there was 32 teams in 1960, I believe it was 26.

Panthers, Ravens, Seahawks, Buccaneers, Jaguars, Texans all came in 1976 or later, I think?

That's impressive, Zero. I had to look them up.

FYI - Before them, the next "newest" team is the New Orleans Saints who entered the league in 1967. That was before you or I were born and before the automobile, when humans got chased around by dinosaurs, and Cheesey was in high school.
