Well, I've been a Packer fan all of my life. I grew up in Sioux Falls, SD, and while there are a variety of fans in the part of the country, it is mostly dominated by Vikings fans. You could probably guess, this didn't make Elementary school very fun. I didn't have a choice of which team to follow though, as my entire extended family are Packer fans. My Grandpa started following the Packers sometime in the late 1930s or '40s, so it goes way back for me.

As I became more interested in football as a kid the Packers got better and better, winning the big one in '96 and going again in '97. So it was a good time to cement my fandom, but it also means my expectations are usually pretty high, which makes seasons like 2008 disappointing.

Through high school and college I continued to follow the team, watching most of the games in college in St. Paul Minnesota at a place called Gabe's by the Park, a Packer Bar and overall great place. I watched most of those games with one of my best friends and fellow forum member evad04, which incidentally is how I was introduced to this forum.

Now I live in Nashville, TN where I'm pursuing a Masters of Theological Studies at Vanderbilt Divinity. I am always looking for new bits and bytes of Packer news so I thought I would finally join up on the forums that evad04 is always talking about. Glad to be part of the community.

Oh, no, another preacher in our midst. Be afraid . . . be very afraid. ;)

Welcome to the forums, Silentio (I hope you haven't taken a vow thereof?). My father grew up in Sioux Falls, and I was born in Brookings, so I've had to visit South Dakota quite a few times.

Don't listen to this Silentio guy. He's totally full of shit.

;) 😉
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

When I was going to ProSource many moons ago to get my real estate license, one of my lunch breaks, I stopped in at Gabe's. Took me until I got my meal to realize what I walked into.

Oh, and cause I'm a Viking never-die. 🙂
