I am here Cheesey, just really busy this week since I took a half day on Monday, got home at 3am Tuesday morning and had to be back at work tuesday at 7:30am.
I must say, I am a little dissapointed in some ofthe posts in this thread. Where did Nonstopdrivel ever post that he wanted all your votes and for you all to decide who should go? Somehow it ended up that way and it became a public decision.
The only thing Nonstop asked for is who would like to go. A couple/few people volunteered and he chose someone. It was his decision. period.
I am honored that he entrusted me with the welfare of Sfalim. She was a very nice young lady and we had a good time.
I have a few pictures but they arent all that great, not what I used to be able to take. I will post them soon. Zero, for your first game, I think you would like to be a little higher than the first row. I think you would like to see the play develop, who is open, etc. Anyone that has played football knows you cant see too much from field level.
That being said, the cool part was being so close to the bench. Barnett gave us a thumbs up, I told Ahman "welcome back", and he said thanks, and I gave Aaron the surfer's sign (where your little finger and thumb are extended from your fist) and he returned it. That was cool.
Sharlene (Sfalim) is a really nice young lady. She grew up and lives in the Phillipines. She was on vacation in Florida as a kid when the Packers won the superbowl and saw Brett play. She was hooked. She know as much or more about the packers and players than alot of people on this site! She knew who was the weight trainer! Also, the new guys that were brought up from the practice squad recently. She also could recognize all the players that were not dressed!
Speaking of not dressed, she clearly underestimated the cold at Lambeau. I tried to give her blankets, gloves, hats, etc. She wouldn't take them and just shivered. I tried. Needless to say, I was bundled.
I made sure she enjoyed Spotted Cow beer (only sold in WI, but extremely popular here) and cheese curds. After the game, we went to Curley's Pub and watched the aftergame with Wayne Laravee, Bill Micheals, and hub Arkush (?). We also sat right there while they interviewed Johnny Jolly. We each had a bowl of Beer Cheese Soup and then I dropped her off at the hotel. I headed back to milwaukee at 1:00AM.
All in all, I think I showed her a good time. Today she heads back home.
