The season is not yet over! Everyone around here is getting down (which i truly understand) but it seems everyone thinks that a 2-2 record is a super horrible thing. Last year the giants went (EDIT: they started 0-2) and look what happened to them! I'm just saying that I am getting tired of all the ITS OVER threads and should we scrap this or that and so on....this is coming from a 16 year old....

I agree that it is not over yet. There is still a lot of football to be played. But there are some SERIOUS things that need to chance. Yes the Giants started out 0-2, but after that, they racked up 6 strait wins. I dont see the Packers doing that. Luckily..They are in a division where the Bears are our main problem right now.

I don't care about the record, we can be 0-4 and have a great team.
The problem is that we are playing really badly we almost lose against the freaking Lions after a 21-0 lead, that is the result that scares me the most.

They probably did, 5 of those 6 wins in a row came against the Redskins, Jets, Falcons, 49ers and Dolphins. Not exactly top tear teams. And there first two games, they lost to two teams who went on to be the top teams in the NFC. The Packers and the Cowboys.

Almost doesn't count for anything. We won the game. We lost the following two. We need to play better or we're in trouble to fall short of our goals (playoffs). Hopefully the players and coaches can address the deficiencies and shortcomings. Those are the facts.

Now on the "faith" side of it: I hope we do well. I think we have the guys to do it. Go Pack Go!

I would feel a little better if I would once see MM come unglued on this team, or should I say specific portions of this team that repeatedly make the same mental errors.

I talking about dropping the hammer on the oline play, arm tackles, bad angles, poor containment, missed blocking reads, drops and a general lack of fire.

We came out in the Cowboy game with fire.. and it disappears quickly.. we looked sharp in the opening drives yesterday and this evaporated in the humidity of Tampa.. someone needs to provide a kick in the ass on this team.. MM that be your call.

Almost counts for the next game.
It is true we won against the Lions but the "almost lose" is a good indication we were going to have problems with Dallas and Tampa.

Good teams destroy the Lions, they don't face themselves down by 1 in the 4th qtr.

This team is not going to replicate the Giants' run without someone lighting a fire under the O-line's butts. We cannot continue to give a half-hearted effort out there and think this season is going to magically turn itself around. Look at the remaining schedule, and tell me where there are six winnable games in a row where we can get by playing like we have the last two weeks.

Actually, I don't see McCarthy being a nuclear dude who'll blow up on a player/team.

If a player still struggles with things like poor footwork, pad level, and fundamentals after repeated attempts of coaching him to be better at those things, I think McCarthy will speak through his actions. He'll bench the player.

That, IMO, is better than getting all yell-happy on a player.

dfosterf (26-Jun) : Fair enough, WPR. Thing is, I have been a long time advocate to at least have some inkling of the dynamics within the board.
wpr (26-Jun) : 1st world owners/stockholders problems dfosterf.
Martha Careful (25-Jun) : I would have otherwise admirably served
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Also, no more provision for a write-in candidate, so Martha is off the table at least for this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : You do have to interpret the boring fine print, but all stockholders all see he is on the ballot
dfosterf (25-Jun) : It also says he is subject to another ballot in 2028. I recall nothing of this nature with Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy is on my ballot subject to me penciling him in as a no.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : I thought it used to be we voted for the whatever they called the 45, and then they voted for the seven, and then they voted for Mark Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Because I was too lazy to change my address, I haven't voted fot years until this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
