I turned 800 bucks into 3800 in a rather risky veture into the stock market with the company I work for. It was nice seeing our stocks rise from 15 cents to 71 cents in 3 days, then deciding to sell at 69 cents. Since then, we've been delisted by AMEX and are back down to .21 on the pink sheets.
That being said, I've been looking for a new job for over a year and can't find shit in my field or something close. The jobs simply aren't there, and I'm terrified of the job I have going up in smoke.

That's what I've been contemplating. My passion was originally computer programming, I went to school for it until I ran out of money and couldn't continue, then found a job doing tech support for a company that installs, maintains, and supports networks in hotels. Initially it was low-level "talk grandma through turning her wireless switch on" stuff, although since we also maintain networks there was a lot of remote troubleshooting that needed to be done. Got a promotion, for the last two years I've almost exclusively been remotely troubleshooting equipment/infastructure failures with the help of untrained hotel staff... Basically, you get them to shut up and do what you tell them to, and you're golden 20 minutes later. If something's failed, get warranty information, escalate for replacement, and help them install their failed _____ a week later.
I do enjoy networking, I've learned a lot about linux in my current job, and was doing some extensive programming projects on the side for work until I just got burned out and couldn't stand doing anything more than I currently do. I enjoy programming more, I'm better at network support.
