I'm far more interested in the entire game's body of work than a single last-second drive. Why didn't he throw touchdowns early in the game so he didn't have to mount a 99-yard drive at the very end?

And yes, I would have said the same thing about Aaron Rodgers.

Ah. And now, THIS is why I say Ben R is overrated. OK, he's had some spectacular drives. But the rest of the game, he was picking his nose and letting the D do all the work while he gets ALL the glory.

OK, back on subject. I had to laugh at both RP's and IronMan's posts. Now I have to see those pictures.

Who deserves to win it? Drew Brees, of course. He had a 158.3 rating which is perfect. 5 TDs. No INTs. Lots of yards. Hardly any passes. You can't do better than that. It's not possible.

EDIT: Holy smokes. RP is right. Brees looks right out of the movie Deliverance. Aaron looks like every other kid from Chico (I swear to God, I can't tell white people apart in that town). I'm voting for Aaron.

If I bothered to vote in these popularity contests, intellectual honesty would compel me to vote for Brees this week. Rodgers was solid but not spectacular against one of the league's laughingstocks (I can't believe I had them pegged to go 7-9 or 8-8 this year), while Brees was stellar against one of the league's putative elites. When he's on fire, the man is awe inspiring.
