There is a lot of discussion in shout on this so lets make a post.
My opinion is that I really like Aaron Rogers as the Packers QB and would like to keep him as the starter over the next 5 years. However, I also will be really disappointed if we break the bank on him at the expense of the rest of the team. I also want to some confirmation that Rodgers strength and accuracy are not degraded due to the broken collarbone last season. It would be batshit crazy for Gute to throw tons of money at him if he is not back to 100% or he just doesn't know.
If the Packer's want to strike gold three times in a row, they need to get the heir apparent when they feel Rodgers is in the final 2-3 years of his career. Is that now or is it 3 years from now?
That all being said, I guess lets see what magic Gute can pull to not screw the rest of the team in terms of cap space to keep Aaron Rodgers around for the next 5 years.
