Why are there so many rules in the NFL? It bothers me.

For instance, I just read that the catch in the Patriots game, the fourth and two play, even if reviewed they'd have to determine when the player established a 'catch'. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?

What's so hard about this? If a player has the ball in his possession and its caught, why does it matter the specific point it's assumed he caught it even if he's knocked backwards?

That just bugs the shit out of me.

Football shouldn't be this complicated. It shouldn't be so sissy driven with these rules.

If you can't handle getting hit, GET OFF THE FIELD. That goes for quarterbacks especially.

He bobbled it. He didn't catch it. When a ball is just in the air, you obviously won't call it a catch. That'd make tip drills catches and fumbles or anything in the area of the receiver a catch. That wouldn't make any sense.

I like how complicated the game is in comparison with other sports. It makes it so deep. Maybe unneccesarely, at times, but I like it.

If you have the ball controlled, it's not touching the ground, two feet (or knee or elbow) down, it's a freaking catch. Stop condoning the unnecessary excessive convoluted rules! 🤣

There is a difference between a catch, and a completed pass. A receiver can catch the ball, but if they don't get 2 feet inbounds, it is still an incompletion.

The problem is not the rules, the problem is instant replay and the over analyzing of everything in super slow Mo down to fractions of seconds.
