Havel beat me to the punch on this earlier in the week, but he has the same thought I do. The NFL has too many damn rules. In fact theres so many rules players an coaches AND referees dont' even know them all.
The fact that we 'need' replay solidifies the point of having too many rules.
I used to love watching old games (60s and 70s) because you could do so much more. It was FOOTBALL played among MEN! Now we have so many rules that players want to find a reason to whine and bitch.
I like the push out rule change. if the guy can get in bounds with two feet, its a catch. If not, no catch. no judgment of the referees should ever come into play. it's crap and im sick of hearing about refs blowing calls and costing teams a game.
The league has become such a sissy ass league even soccer players laugh at NFL players.
I would love to see a more smash mouth football game with less rules and how about we put some of those millions in a pension for the players after retirement? I think if their gonna risk their bones an what not they should be taken care of after the NFL as well.
And before anyone tries saying "oh but then the super stars would get hurt!" tough shit. For every superstar on the field theres one on the bench waiting for his chance to shine. Remember, if it wasn't for Majik getting hurt we wouldn't have seen Brett when we did. If it wasn't for Bledsoe getting hurt, we wouldn't have seen Brady... the list goes on and on so that theory is bull trucking crap!
ARGH!! I could go on and add lots more to this but Brett is on so I'm gonna go watch the game.
