A + move, Wayne.

You missed a game with your son, that is unfortunate.

You restored/reinforced/confirmed (to whatever degree, as applicable) that leap of faith that we all want to have in the innate kindness of our fellow man...at least in the mind of one son.

Were I a betting man, that story will be told for the rest of the ticket recipient's lifetime.

A++ for the guest selection recommendation.

I'm calling that whole deal a net success story.

Thanks dfosterf. My son was a bit disappointed. Blamed himself. I told him I didn't mind spending the day together in Chicago instead of GB.

10 years ago I would have been upset but going to a GB game is not the most impt thing in my life.

I thought about calling Cheesey but alas I did not have his number. Sorry Big C. You would have been my 1st choice. If for no other reason I know you live in the greater Milawaukee area.

Here's some photo's from the game guys. I was sitting up higher then I have in the past and the camera I take to sporting events doesn't have the best zoom, but it's better then nothing. Comments below.

Beautiful Lambeau Field covered in case of rain before game day.

Ahman Green and Nick Barnett's trucks are absolutely INSANE. Must be nice to be mega rich.

My thoughts from the game:

A GREAT game! It was funny because some brave Cowboys fans were sitting right beside my girl friend and I and I don't think I heard a word from them all day. I give them credit for coming and wearing their teams jerseys, but it was still funny.

During the 1st half, the crowd was relatively flat and life less. I was a bit disappointed. Definitely not a whole lot of "Lambeau Mystique." However, as the 2nd half began and the sun started to set the energy really picked up. I'm not sure if it was due to people getting drunk, it getting dark and the stadium lights coming on (king of a prime time feel), or the scoring, but the electricity definitely picked up. By late 3rd quarter into the 4th quarter Lambeau was ROCKING! It was incredible.

In the first half, I remember at least 1-2 plays where Rodger's was holding onto the ball for a long time and THREE receivers were at least 20+ yards down the field, with only 1 check down available. As the play was over I saw our WR's running back towards the huddle and several of us were like, "whaaaaat??." Didn't notice much of that later in the game though. But multiple times in the 1st half many of us in the stands were thinking "GET RID OF THE DAMN BALL!!"

Obviously, the defense was pretty much dominating. The players that stuck out to me were Matthews, Woodson, Barnett, Jolly, and Jenkins. The defense seemed to feed off these guys. Also, at times, Matthews looked to be the leader of the defense. I know that he's not "technically," but several times he looked to be directing traffic. It was very encouraging. Hawk had a few nice hits. I saw Bush out on the field much more then I would like. Overall, we controlled Dallas' screen and running game which was very impressive. It seemed to me as if Dom Capers finally showed what he is capable in this game. Players seemed to be in the perfect position to make plays and they did just that. I give more credit to the Defense and Capers then I do to McCarthy, but I'm sure some will disagree. I can't honestly say that Kampman was missed a whole lot on the field, but things always seem a bit different watching a game live and on TV.

I'll try to remember some of the other thoughts I had during the game and post them later. But it's been a long day and this is all I can think of for now. Needless to say, things were very "Jolly" around Lambeau after this game. Live it up Packer fans, we deserve it!

Thanks man!

You know, the typical ones. Champions, Fuzzy's, Curly's, as well as various other little sports bars like Gibby's, Titletown Brewing Company, etc. I meant to check out "The Bar," but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I'm actually heading to the zoo outside of Green Bay tomorrow, so I'm kind of stoked about that.

Hopefully I'll find somewhere else to go tomorrow.

Man, I'm telling you, that flag was AMAZING. Definitely a site to see. That and the jet fly over were incredible.

Go to my Flikr page and you can get a higher quality picture of the flag picture. I posted a medium size photo to the forum to save space. I bet there's a "professional" photo of it up somewhere.

I do agree that the gameplan in the first half was atrocious. I don't understand why Mike McCarthy insists on puttering about with his little experiments before finally settling down to what works some time in the third quarter. In the first half, I saw entire series in which Rodgers was in the shotgun on every play. Then mysteriously in the third quarter, we started throwing short. Why weren't we throwing short from the first drive?

McCarthy's stubbornness is going to be his downfall. We aren't always going to have the luxury of shutting out the opposing offense in the first half. With his pigheadedness, we're more likely to be down by a couple of scores by half time and have to stage a desperation comeback.

I'm really glad we won, but I'm hardly sanguine about the rest of the season. We have to win 5 of 7 to get to 10-6.

Fantastic photos.

I took the advice of both of you. I went to your flikr page and made it my desktop background.

I think your photograph just might be the neatest background I have ever had on this computer.

Thanks for the picture, and IM, thanks for the idea.

to both of ya! (IM rates not only for the idea, but upon reflection, I can think of many of HIS photos that would have made great backgrounds)
