lol ... its a gossip mill. They redid downtown nicely and got rid of a few of the one way hell streets. but all thats there is drinking, drinking and if you want you can always drink on a boat. and everyone knows what you did before
you finished doing it. my brother still lives up there and races on the dirt track, Thunder Hill.

Those small towns can be very cliquey too.
When I lived up in Marinette county, it was like Northern Exposure, only without the interesting people.

I will be at the Stadium View Bar party. My wife and I have a vendor space in the parking lot. We sell all kinds of Packer stuff from real jerseys to mardi gras beads. You'll know our booth by the womens purses made out of Packer footballs. I'm always looking for an excuse to duck out and have a drink with some Packershome types! Our names are Anna and Chris. (Hope to see you next week Ironman, I owe you a beer!)

sorry dodd for not replying. I didn't see this thread.
I am picking up my son in the morning and we are heading up. Then leaving after the game and coming straight back.
(About a 4 hour drive each way.)

Hey man, no problem. I'll be up at the Tundra Tailgate Zone around 12-1 tomorrow after noon "getting ready" for the game. I'm pretty excited because this time it's actually going to be a reasonable temperature. Last couple of times it's been extremely cold and made it harder for me to "enjoy" beverages. Not this time though!

I'm on my way to Curly's Pub for some beers!

Where are you sitting man? I'll be in section 131 above the tunnel.

I can't believe it. I just can't Believe it!
I am going to take my son to the game today. Last night he calls and we change where I am going to meet him. Instead of the Metra train station in the western (Chicago) suburbs, we decide to meet in Milwaukee. He is going to take Amtrak from Chicago to Milwaukee.
I am on I-43 about 40 minutes out of Milwaukee when I get a call from my son. Seems that Amtrak lost his online reservation. By the time he messed around trying to get the ticket and then talked to someone from Amtrak, the train pulled out of the station. I told him to check on a Metra station in on of the northern 'Burbs. He called back told me there was one that would work. I got off the Expressway and headed for the station. He then called back and told me that he didn't have enough money in his pocket. (Sigh.) I told him that we would just spend the day together instead of going to the game.

I had just driven through Delavan. I turned around and went back into town. Pulled up at a gas station. I walked up to a young man and asked him if he had plans that afternoon. He said he did but what did I have in mind. I asked him if he wanted to see the Packer game. He was just stunned. He was trying to remember the phone number for one of his friends. After a few minutes of talking I told him to take the tickets and see if he could line someone up. He agreed. He was suppose to lay some brick today. I told him to call in sick. He said that he would except that he was doing the work at his Dad. As I got into my car I told him to take his Dad.

A + move, Wayne.

You missed a game with your son, that is unfortunate.

You restored/reinforced/confirmed (to whatever degree, as applicable) that leap of faith that we all want to have in the innate kindness of our fellow man...at least in the mind of one son.

Were I a betting man, that story will be told for the rest of the ticket recipient's lifetime.

A++ for the guest selection recommendation.

I'm calling that whole deal a net success story.

+1
