In my opinion, the time has come for citizens of other nations to take responsibility for the crappy conditions in their countries. If their countries are so unbearable that they have to creep illegally into supposed havens like the United States and Europe, they should be banding together to overthrow their governments and set up regimes responsive to their needs and wants. It's been said that a people gets the government it deserves, and I believe that is more or less true. I certainly believe that we Americans, as the (to quote George Carlin) "weak, unimaginative, frightened people" we have become, deserve the intrusive, overbearing government we now have.

IF they do it LEGALLY. Otherwise they should stay the hell out of the United States.
We have laws on that for a REASON. And it's to protect everyone born here or who FOLLOWED THE LAWS and did it right. Is it fair to those that worked hard to earn their citizenship LEGALLY to just allow law breakers to stay here? I don't think so.

I consider myself more on the political left side than the right side and I'm not a fan of illegal immigrants. I doubt most 'lefties' want their country flooeded with illegal immigrants. Or any person, for that matter.

So on the right, you have hardly ANY one that wants law breakers to have a free ride to break laws that we made for a REASON, and those on the left, not ALL on the left, but a big enough amount of them that we bend over backwards to not "offend" them that feel we "owe" these law breakers something.
If it wasn't those on the left that keep fighting for the law breakers, we would be able to take action against the people that should NOT be in our country.

Halloween Costumes...

This one made me laugh... Even though I am Catholic.

Check out the priest costume... With a little boy giving him a hummer.

Legal citizens do all of that as well. Bankruptcy laws were changed because so many had abused them by accumulating massive amounts of debt and then using their get-out-of-debt free card.

Hospitals can't turn away anyone in need of care, nor would I want them to. The system is abused enough as it is with people receiving 6 figure operations for me to care too much about someone taking up a bed for a night.

I apologize if I'm playing Devil's Advocate too much, but it's funny to me that people attribute a systemic recession to the lowest rung of the ladder.

From my experience, they're good people but are a drain on our economy.

That another problem. They take from the pot, and put nothing back. And what reason is there for them to do anything to become legal, when they KNOW no one is trying to prosecute them and deport them?
There's no incentive to change, or for new people coming over the boarder to do it legally.
As long as there is no consequences, why bother with the legalities?

If you put laws on the books, then do NOTHING to enforce them, no one will obey them.
Pretty easy, if you ask me.

I'm not arguing about fairness or unfairness. All I'm saying is that a) it would be near impossible to kick them out, and b) it would have negative consequences that people love to ignore. Not ALL the consequences would be negative, obviously.

Another thing... is it impossible to have a conversation like this without dropping the names and labels on people? Or is it important for you to put people into a box marked "lefties" so you feel more comfortable about dissenting/diverse opinions?

Hey, it goes without saying that illegal immigrants ripping off the system is not a good thing. I'm not arguing that. I'm just pointing out that they also serve as a crutch to certain aspects of our economy as well, not to mention the pure logistical nightmare of what you're suggesting the solution is.

Mass, i'm sorry that "labels" offend you. Thats not my intent. I use them because it make it clear which group i'm speaking of. Fact is, the MAJORITY of people that think the illegal aliens breaking the law are people that are on the left, or what would be called "liberals". Very few on the "right", or "conservatives" think thats fine.
When you are talking face to face, it's easier to make points then the time you have to try to write a few comments.
And, i bet you know which people i mean when i use those "labels". Just as people label me a "righty" or "conservative." I myself don't mind being labeled, cause it pretty much sums up the way i think.
If it quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck....so why not call it so?

Zero2Cool (2h) : I think that's how it works.
Zero2Cool (3h) : I'd go 3 QB regardless this game.
Zero2Cool (3h) : Clifford was elevated, not activated. He doesn't play, it doesn't count.
hardrocker950 (6h) : If Clifford is active, not likely to see Jordan play this weekend
Mucky Tundra (6h) : QB Sean Clifford and CB Robert Rochell elevated from the PS for the Titans game
Zero2Cool (20-Sep) : Love questionable. Morgan is out. Valentine is doubtful
Martha Careful (20-Sep) : Rodgers and Lazard off to a very strong start
Zero2Cool (19-Sep) : Josh Jacobs. Limited.
Zero2Cool (19-Sep) : Can't find anything on Jacobs :(
wpr (19-Sep) : Do you know if they gave Jacobs an extra day off? I hope so.
Zero2Cool (19-Sep) : WR Jayden Reed (calf) and G Elgton Jenkins (illness/glute) returned after sitting out Wednesday.
Zero2Cool (19-Sep) : Packers are in pads and so is Jordan Love. Second straight day of practice for QB1.
bboystyle (18-Sep) : If Love comes back, we win in a blow out
Zero2Cool (18-Sep) : Jordan Love just spoke with reporters and said he’s giving himself the week but hopeful to play Sunday against the Titans.
Zero2Cool (18-Sep) : Practicing is Jordan Love!
Zero2Cool (18-Sep) : Packers are signing WR Cornelius Johnson to the Practice Squad per sources. Johnson was a 7th round pick this year.

Mucky Tundra (15-Sep) : Oh my, marvin harrison jr might be as good as he was billed out to be
Mucky Tundra (15-Sep) : and none of the chats on my phone are showing up on the desktop chat
Mucky Tundra (15-Sep) : weird, i was on my phone for chat during the game but now on my desktop I look at chat and there's tons of chats i didn't see on my phone

Mucky Tundra (15-Sep) : Zero, what I meant was that surely a tech and IT genius such as yourself would find a way to change the pick

Zero2Cool (15-Sep) : Or so I thought I did. lol
Zero2Cool (15-Sep) : I had Colts for few days to throw everyone off. At 11am or so, I changed it to Packers.

Zero2Cool (15-Sep) : Inactives: 10 QB Jordan Love 27 S Kitan Oladapo 57 DL Brenton Cox Jr. 73 T Andre Dillard 79 T Travis Glover 96 DL Colby Wooden
Martha Careful (14-Sep) : Wisconsin football stinks. OL good, Pauling good. all else MEH
Zero2Cool (14-Sep) : Jordan Love downgraded to doubtful for tomorrow's game
Zero2Cool (14-Sep) : Sean Clifford just got called up. No Love tomorrow. No shock either.
