Exactly. My first thought was, wow, we got Green back. Next thought was, oh god, i hope he doesnt still have his fumbling problem. That guy lost so many games for us with fumbles. AHHHHHHH It's like Bubba with the drops.

One fumble in nearly 100 touches?

What games did his fumbling cost us?

And you do realize he probably won't even touch the ball 99 times this year, right?

I'll wait for the games his fumbles cost us a win.

All i'm saying is that it got to a point where i held my breath every time the ball was thrown to Bubba and every time Green had the ball in his hands. I cant remember which games he lost us. It's been a while. I just remember he had a knack for costing us a lot of momentum.

"Gravedigga" wrote:

So................. your statement of his fumbling costing us a LOT of games ... was ... utter bullshit then?

I lightly checked into the stats (knowing you sure as hell wouldnt) and your statement holds no ground. And in the last two months of the season Green's fumbling problem was near non existent.

Am I the only skeptic here?

32 year old with many injuries ... ya thats nice he will gain 46 yards and get a prize.

btw where is that sig with Mike McCarthy and Ted Thompson 'eye on the prize' ...

So Mike McCarthy couldnt make a screen play with the personel he had? ... jackson? or heck maybe a back that doesnt need a cane to play?

You are the only one who apparently thinks it's a really big deal who our 3rd string running back is.

I calmed down within a couple of hours of the signing. It isn't a big deal. It really isn't. But that was my main problem with it. It seems like nothing our management or coaching staff does is a big deal anymore. I'm sure that in this case perception isn't reality, but after a while emotional stability begins to feel like complacency. Sometimes the snowglobe needs a good shake to get things moving again.

No reason to be worked up at all. This whole signing is a mirage. We both know that Thompson never goes back on his decisions. He let Green go. He would never bring him back, being the unbending arrogant prick that he is.

I have nothing but the utmost respect for Ahman Green.
Obviously, the mere fact that he is on the verge of breaking Jim Taylors rushing record speaks volumes.

What I find sad, is that the Green Bay Packers have been reduced to a team that is combing through the scrap heaps of once great players to fill out their roster.

This is simply because of the ineptitude of Ted Thompson as General Manager.

Sorry Mass, but just another nail.

If we were signing Ahman as our feature back, you'd have a point. We are using him as a 3rd RB. I don't see that as being desperate at all. Injuries can force these types of moves too.

Uh, reading the thread I'd say that the skeptics far outnumber the rest of us. So no, you're not the only one.

Bottom line: those who think there might have been better options available have a valid point. I disagree (Perry hasn't managed to see the field so I'd call him a paper tiger, Arrington's not proven to be any more durable than Green, and Rhodes raises some character flags, IMO), but it's valid. Those who are butthurt because Thompson didn' trade for Stevie Jackson or Joe Thomas or something, well, with all due respect you're living in a fantasy world - that simply wasn't ever going to happen.

If you look at this for what it likely really was, which was an opportunity to bring a great former Packer back so he can finish his career in the green and gold while hopefully getting some limited production out of him and fill the (tiny) void left by sending Wynn to the IR, I can't see how it's a bad move.

If you're simply pissed that Thompson is proving that he's too stubborn to change his ways no matter how obvious the need to do that is, that's cool - and I agree with you. I'm pissed, too. But don't slag on Green - the man's 46 yards from being the all-time Packers rushing leader for a reason, and he's a good man to boot.

Zero2Cool (9h) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (9h) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (11h) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (12h) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (13h) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (13h) : Thank you
wpr (13h) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (13h) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (13h) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (13h) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (13h) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (14h) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (14h) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (14h) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (14h) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (14h) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : what's so funny?
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Bears are finalizing a deal to hire Ben Johnson as their head coach. (via @tompelissero )
