I never said nor implied Levens was elite (thanks for the correction there, by the way). I said I have more memories of him, probably because I've watched the highlights from the Super Bowl years so many times. I don't have anything in particular against Green; I'm just relating my subjective memories, which, when I think about the period of my life in which he played for the Packers, I'm not surprised they're screwed up.

I don't see how anybody can feel anything but maybe nostalgic about this signing. There's nothing but upside to bringing Green in at a #3. I mean, with Grant struggling to reach 20 carries in a game so far, how much impact has our #3 RB had up to this point? If Green can come in and contribute, that's fantastic. If he can't, we aren't any worse off.

Personally, I'd like to see our coaching staff really dig in and work with what we have rather than have Thompson out there trying to bring in new pieces. I feel like we have the talent to be a serious contender, even with our OL issues. I haven't been impressed with the play calling on both offense and defense so far the past couple weeks. I think we need to be out there utilizing our players the best way we can before we go out and try to make blockbuster trades like some people were hoping for.

William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

I have a good feeling about this.

No stats, no nothing.

I just like it.

I feel like a screen game is forthcoming...I don't know if it's him that's catching, but that is what I'm sensing...

I don't have any desire to go look up specific plays but (and I know this was partly due to personnel) capers had abandoned the blitz until last week against detroit, something that i think really hurt us against the vikings. And the red zone play calling in the second half against the lions left a lot to be desired. I understand we had the game pretty well in hand but the second half really killed any offensive momentum that we could have possibly carried into this weekend.

At this point in the game, I don't see how this will really hurt the team. Nothing I've really seen out of Wynn so far this season has me thinking he's better than Ahman at this point.

Is Ahman going to come in and light the NFL on fire again? Probably not, but if he can be even adequate change-of-pace blocking back/kick returner behind Grant and Jackson, he's an upgrade over Wynn imo.

Besides, he'll have over half the season to get the 46 yards he needs to surpass Jim Taylor. It's a good way to finish up his career and legacy in Green Bay by becoming the franchise's all time rushing leader.

Take the time to watch THIS  and tell me that doesn't make you smile. The man bleeds green and gold. I love that.

So do I. I can play safety.

I love the guy. I just think that there where better options out there.

I hope that he'll prove me wrong.

You were doing something far more important than racking memories about the Packers at the time.

Wow a lot of posts on this guy. I overall think it couldn't hurt, let Grant pick his brain and learn a little. I mean I like the idea of seeing him a GB uniform again backup 3rd down back or whatever.
. He'll block nice for us I mean If it was 3rd and goal and we wanted to pass I would want Green over Jackson to do it. Screens help too.. I cant judge how good he'll still be at them but I think he'll be pretty decent. Who knows? I just might see this sunday as I read he might play.

Am I the only skeptic here?

32 year old with many injuries ... ya thats nice he will gain 46 yards and get a prize.

btw where is that sig with MM and Ted Thompson 'eye on the prize' ...

So MM couldnt make a screen play with the personel he had? ... jackson? or heck maybe a back that doesnt need a cane to play?
