Packfan4, your statistics are unimpeachable, but to me they are beside the point. I've been clamoring loud and long for Wynn to be cut. I think it's ridiculous that he started the season on our roster. The fact that we're bringing in another retread RB whose statistics are marginally better than Wynn's brings me no comfort. I'll be surprised -- shocked -- if Ahman Green makes it more than a few games without appearing on the injury report.

I refuse to believe there are no better options out there. I believe there are no cheaper options out there. But better? No way.

Negativity, negativity, negativity, this board has to be the most negative Packers board i've been a part of. Again, Ahman is going to be our 3RD RB! How the hell can people complain so much about a #3 RB, are there better guys on the market? Maybe, but who cares, an upgrade is an upgrade.

I'm not complaining about the player himself, packfan4. I'm deploring the overall trend of signing cheap, injury-prone players with lots of potential or talent over reliable, perhaps less talented players who will answer the bell week after week. Cheap is great, but sometimes you need production too. And Ahman Green will give us hardly any more than we're currently getting.

I'm not saying we need to break the bank for a high-profile #1 back, but on the other hand, watching the management continue to populate our roster with #3s is growing stale. Our starters can't be expected to carry the entire load week after week.

It has nothing to do with money, any RB we sign is going to get the minimum, give or take a few bucks. We'll have to see then, if our staff thinks he is healthy and can help us, i'm on board and i'll never bash a move before the player gets a chance to prove himself. The 2nd part doesn't really make sense to me, this is a minor move, an oppurtunity to upgrade the #3 RB position and maybe even give a little spark to the RB corps as well, if he indeed, is healthy. This is a move made for the immediate future, we're not asking him to be a savior, just fill a role.

Our staff thought Bigby, Jackson, Wynn, and Clifton were healthy enough to stay on the roster. And now they think Tauscher is healthy enough to be on our roster. I don't place too much faith in our staff's ability to judge health. Remember, the doctors pay for the privilege of working for the team -- they don't work for the players.

You're blaming in-season injuries, aside from Jackson, on the coaching staff? Why do you think Tausch isn't healthy enough to be on our roster, the doctors said he'd be good to go by Oct.1st, we're 10 days away from November. I guess it boils down to 1 thing, I trust the people who run our team. Too much? Maybe, but i'm an eternal optimist and i'll always look on the bright side of things until proven differently. Have they made mistakes? Sure, but what teams have an instant solution to every potential injury on the roster? Packer fans in general have grown into a very impatient, and negative group ever since #4 departed. Maybe our expectations have grown a little too high after the 16 year run Favre gave us? This team isn't far away from being very good, just have faith and be freakin positive for once folks! It's good for ya

Dude, I think I made it clear that I don't think they entered this season healthy. But I'm done with this topic. I don't like being pessimistic, so I'll hope for the best. I'm just weary of this team signing injury-prone players instead of less flashy, more reliable ones.

How great of a story would it be if he came back and was amazing??? Not saying its gonna happen, but Ahman was always a packer, and if he works out well I say play him.

At this stage, he's a third down back. Which is what the Packers need.
Green can pick up blitzes AND more importantly, catch the ball out of the backfield. They can run screens and dump the ball off to him.
Hope he's still got some speed.

We were told that the primary reason we kept Wynn was that he could pick up blitzes too. 😉

This signing isn't anything to give anyone a boner for excitement. Green can be a good 3rd down back for us, I think.

Those who want a young RB, really? Another unproven RB would just make you bitch about that too.

The Packers DID something. Small, maybe useless, but Jesus fracking Christ they DID something.

beast (16h) : 6 days
wpr (17-Apr) : 7 days
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : Did they know that at the time or was that something the realized afterwards?
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Van Ness played most of season with broken thumb
wpr (9-Apr) : yay
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Mark Murphy says Steelers likely to protect Packers game. Meaning, no Ireland
Zero2Cool (8-Apr) : Struggling to figure out what text editor options are needed and which are 'nice to have'
Mucky Tundra (8-Apr) : *CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP*
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : WR who said he'd break Xavier Worthy 40 time...and ran slower than you
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Who?
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Texas’ WR Isaiah Bond is scheduled to visit the Bills, Browns, Chiefs, Falcons, Packers and Titans starting next week.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Spotting ball isn't changing, only measuring distance is, Which wasn't the issue.
