Favre carved up the Packers. No question about it. We dared him to beat us and he did just that. Anyone who says different is just bitter and is not being objective. Period.

Favre got handed this game. I want to see him forced to win a game against a playoff caliber team before I give him any credit. He snaked a win from the 49ers and the Packers are too busy shooting themselves in the foot to count as a playoff team right now. Otherwise wins against the Lions, Browns and Rams leave me unimpressed.

Handed this game? Did Harris & Woodson play off the receivers to pad Favres stats? Did Chillar decide not to intercept the 1st TD so to be nice to Favre? Did Harris let Berrian blow past him out of pity? Give me a break. Favre put the Packers, Mike McCarthy & Ted Thompson over his kneee and gave them a spanking. Enough with the sour grapes. Plenty of time for that in a few weeks.

This is ridiculous, obviously were not going to agree so I'm going to be a bit more honest and less biased.

Yes, Favre made good throws and played a good game. Yes, he does deserve credit for the win. However, he was put in a lot of favorable positions for most of the game (Vikings were never losing, AP took the most of the defensive pressure leaving the passing game open, he played at home), while the Packers were playing from behind and shooting themselves in the foot with stupid mistakes (penalties, turnovers, dropped passes, blown coverages, no pass rush). All I'm saying is, before everyone starts annointing Favre to elite status again he should actually carry the load against a playoff caliber team, which we obviously were not when we played them.

He played well.
But who here cares? He's a Viking now. I can't WAIT to see the "bad Brett" show up for a few games. I want to see how the Viking fans treat him then.

Yes, he's still a decent QB. How will he do against a good team? Only time will tell. He's had an easy run so far.

I don't care about the QB of other teams. I only care about the Packers.

The two decent teams they've played have been home games. This 3 week stretch they have coming up will be very revealing.

True.

But...going off on a tangent...
The problem I have with making this "favre hasn't played anyone yet" argument as a _Packer_ fan, though, is that the Packers really havent faced that much tougher of a schedule. Okay, the Bengals this year look like something other than the Bungles.

Minnesota looked better than GB when head to head. And won.
Minnesota looked better against Rams than GB.
Packers beat Chicago, Vikings beat SF -- SF's the better team.
Packers lost to Bengals. Better than Bungles, but little early to anoint Cincy as great team just yet.
Vikings beat two creampuffs.

If we say Favre (or the VIkings more generally) hasn't demonstrated anything much just yet...but then we must say that Rodgers (or the Packers) has shown even less yet.

And that's a bummer.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

I'd say Chicago is better than San Fran. SF got absolutely SMACKED around by Atlanta.

It's simply too early to tell, I believe.

Ravens secondary is not playing up to par. Perfect game for Vikings QB to torch some more. I expect, as should most. 250 yards and 2 TD's.

All bets are off if Ray Lewis comes untouched into the backfield. You know he won't pull up.

Wait.

Wasn't that what you all were saying right before the Vikings played the Packers? What?

wpr (17-Apr) : 7 days
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
