So now it is about Rodgers not getting the ball away fast enough. Not running enough.

Fuck.... The guy is getting killed out there. But He is not on the injury list.

So....

Do I need to go back to when Aaron played half a game against Dallas with a broken foot. You remember... When he was injured. Twice.

And so many Packer Fan posters.... (Hazer You Were Leading That Band Wagon.) at that time were suggesting he was "Inury Prone" "Made of glass." "Not near as tough as Brett." "Will Never Make it" "A Pussy." Will Never Be Tough Enough to make it at the NFL Level.

WELL.... I Think Young Aaron has made every one who jumped on the "Not Tough Enough" band wagon should hang their head in shame... and not even comment on Aaron for two more years.

Call it a two year (Aaron.) posting penalty for throwing the kid under the bus for jumping on his ass, for pre judging him as being injury prone.

Aaron is as durable as any champion I have seen... And Tough As Nails from what I have seen.

Step Back... Admire how tough he is... Then let's talk about getting the ball of faster, or fixing the O Line.

GIVE ARRON HIS DUE RESPECT. FOR BEING TOUGH, DURABLE, AND A MAN'S MAN IN THE POCKET.

Several people here have given him respect for being tough. That doesn't mean that his is above being criticized.

He HAS held the ball too long on a few occasions. That is a fact. It isn't Rodgers hating or being nit picky. Its a fact.

Z2C said it best here:

I think the whole thought of get off Rodgers because he's not perfect is way over board. I don't think anyone has mentioned anything remotely close to implying that Rodgers IS the problem. What we are saying (and this is jus my opinion of what I've said an read) is that we'd like to see the man throw the ball a bit quicker to avoid the pressure.

Someone else said this too, if we're going to be bitching about his releasing the ball too late, and that's the biggest gripe, then we're in pretty damn good hands at QB. I agree with that and feel the same. BUT, just because he does 9 things right, doesn't mean I'm going to NOT say something about the one thing he does wrong.

I think his mobility is great. He has good arm strength, OVERALL good decision making, good accuracy, but I think he needs more experience to learn the defenses better and to hit his hot read's faster. it will come in time. No one is throwing the man to wolves, just simply stating a fact. He needs to play hot potato with that ball sometimes.

I get it, the O-line sucks. But I my whole issue has to do more with Rodgers progression as an NFL player.

My problem is simply that he holds on to the ball too much just like he did in game #1 as opposed to game #20. The O-line is terrible, there is no debating that but IMO Rodgers is blame a lot more than 15%. I think a lot of sacks are 50/50. Even when Favre was giving them up left and right in the first 3 games, I said the same thing.

1) As a QB, its your job to read blitzes, if your giving up a lot of sacks where you have no time to react, then you probably failed to read the defence properly and get it out with a quick slant, etc. - That may have to do with coaching though and their instructions to him/latitude to call plays. That will come with time but you cannot expect the O-line/RB to pick up every single blitz, it doesn't happen.

2) You have to sometimes just plain get rid of the ball. For example, that safety. I do not understand how that is even remotely the O-line's fault. Your at the half yard line. You konw you have a couple of seconds MAX to get rid of it. That is on Rodgers. And I hate when he thinks hes faster than he is. Yes he's mobile but he is not Michael Vick. You think your going to outrun Jarden Allen out of the endzone, your not. Play within yourself. Even on last year's safety too, Jarden Allen just plain ran him down.

3) You have to take risks sometimes. I get it, he doesn't get a lot of INTs but I think sometimes you have to take risks. He seems to not want to pull the trigger if its close. But I think you can play like that if you have the Ravens defence of 2008 or whatever. Just like I said last year, our defence is not an elite defense, so take the risks.

Overall, I like Rodgers progression. But this part of his game gets me antsy. He's a statistical giant but a lot of times he gets these 70 yard, 1 minute drives down by two touchdowns. I hate when people just look at stats and scream "whatever look at his stats". Its not all about stats otherwise Warren Moon and Dan Marino would be the two greatest QBs in the history of the NFL. But their not, its about something else, winning. Either your a winner or your not.

Do I think the true "legends" just happen to have the best teams every year, i.e. Manning, Favre, Brady. No. For example, Jets. This was the Mangenius Jets, not the Rex Ryan Jets and they went from 4-12 to 9-7 (including 8-3 at one point) with Favre. And the Packers went from 13-3 to 6-10. Maybe its all just concidence that happens or that the Colts are good EVERY single year, who knows.

But IMO, the most important position in football is exactly that, the most important position. Tahts why I think Rodgers has a lot more control over sacks than just a passive bystander. The O-line sucks but at least show some kind of sign of progression is all I'm asking for. But this excuse that its all the O-line will only hurt his progression in the long run IMO.

I wasnt aware that Favre played D...how many times last year did Rodgers put the team in a position to win, just to have the defense blow it late in the 4th? The offense put up the same type of numbers last year as they did with Favre, it was the defense that failed to show up.

You fail to realize it's the quarterback's primary responsibility to pull a come-from-behind victory out of his ass in the final 60 seconds of every game.

Why does every NFL coach say the Oline has to give a QB a minumum of 3 seconds to throw the ball? Because in most cases that is how long it takes. Rodgers is getting pressure quicker than that. When a QB drops back, he has to look and find an open WR, and if that doesn't happen, needs to look for a place where he can throw the ball away, or run to escape.

With how fast Rodgers is getting pressured, he would need to be looking for that escape path, or place to throw the ball away, as soon as he gets the snap and dropping back. but to make everyone happy Rodgers is going to start, 1 step, turn and throw at the opposing coach.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

And then people will bitch that his completion percentage is in the toilet. And as soon as opposing defenses catch on to what he's doing, they'll be looking to jump his throws. But hey, he won't be taking sacks.

I'm not advocating he takes more sacks. I'm saying I don't think Rodgers can win right now no matter what he does. I think a lot of Packers fans want their pound of flesh and won't be satisfied until they get it, though even they aren't sure what it will look like.

I totally agree that that's not going to be the fix.

We are team with the talent at QB and WR to be dangerous downfield. What that does is SPREAD the defense because they have to honor the fact they could get burned deep.

What has happened and what would happen if we just go three step drop and throw short all the time is tighten the lanes because the DB's, not having to worry about the deep ball, can concentrate on what's in front of them and not worry about getting run by.

The 0 line has GOT to allow Rodgers and the receivers to take shots downfield. They don't have to give him five seconds every time but there has to be enough protection that the defense has to respect all the cards in our offenses hand.

The strongest point of our offense is the ability of Rodgers to go deep and the threats we have in Jennings, Driver, and the TE's. No, it's not all about stats. For the offense it's about scoring points. When you take the scariest part of your scheme off the table, especially with a mediocre run offense, I don't see where designing a pass offense to reduce the sacks is going to produce more points.

Our offense is more like what defenses have to face with Peyton Manning or Drew Brees. You take the field away past twenty yards downfield away from those guys and see how hard it starts getting to score points.
