Charles Woodson said I dont know if we win the game if we still have Anthony still on the team, Woodson said. But the decision to get rid of a guy that knows this defense in and out and made plays for us in the preseason, not being able to have a guy like that come in when Atari goes down, thats a big dent in this defense.

Packers.com

He is definitely right, I had been saying that Anthony is an asset.

I agree with Woody on this one. We got a couple of bad cuts done by Ted Thompson this year.

If you recall ( or maybe you didnt know)

We have sort of an insider here that said Smith was getting cut basicly cuz MM didnt like him...

So while on outside looks like it was Ted might just be that Ted listens to his coaches and takes the blame

If that proves to be true, I am beginning to think that there might be more to this smoke than just an emotional release by Woodson.

Could it be, that MM is starting to lose this locker room, and cutting Smith was kind of like the proverbial last straw. I know I am kind of spit balling here, but the Smith thing combined with the apparent refusal to play the fiery Bishop could be more personal than performance? Somethings just aren't adding up with this team and some of the decisions of late.

I hope I am just way off base and a little bit tainted by the last days of Sherman and his controlling stubborn nature.

Ok if he was so good why did we cut him. Woodson is right, he did make plays in the pre season. If MM cut him because he didn't "like" him, thats bull

Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Watch the Berrian TD over and over. Martin was inside the hashmarks out of position. This is exactly why Smith was cut, because he also hugged the center of the field. When Smith had his big INT in preseason, it was because he was out of position playing the center of the field instead of covering the deep half like he was suppose to. This is exactly the type of play that would have burnt him also.

I can't say Martin is better or worse. Today they seem pretty close though.

Good point, the Rams are terrible but it still gets me curious with what Woodson said. It makes me reconsider my perception a bit on the move.

Shouldn't he also be calling out the entire defense then? not just pointing out one player missing. The entire defense was making more plays during preseason, they are still here and not the same results. Point to the players not making the plays in house, not some player not even in our locker room. I sell Woody's comments and a little surprised by them.
