Laying in my bed this morning, my thoughts drifted to the Packers which is where they often land, and for some reason I wondered "Did Charles Woodson win the defensive player of the week last week?" He seemed like a shoo in for the award. So I got up and rushed down to my computer and did a quick search only to find this:

Roman Harper, seriously? How does seven tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble trump 5 tackles two interceptions and a fumble recovery?

A small thing on the richter scale of my day but an injustice nonetheless.

While Chuck made some huge plays, he also got abused on a couple times in the game. I didn't watch the Saints game so I'm not sure if you could say the same thing about Harper

Steve Smith completely burned him a couple of times in the game. Woodson played a game with many highs and many lows. He did not deserve the DPOTW award.

Well, in his defense Charles had to hold his coverage longer as the Packers were maintaining their rushing lanes and not letting Newton beat them with his legs while the Saints were busy sacking Cutler 6 times. Not to mention the bears receivers.

Woodson didn't have a bad game by any means. You just don't get DPOTW if you allow yardage like that.

If anything Morgan Burnett should have been the guy before Woodson. He made some big plays and didn't allow nearly 200 passing yards.

Yeah that dude played ball. Maybe not DPOTW worthy, but I think he was our defensive MVP @ Carolina.
