About freaking time.. that shores up one side of the line... now some added depth on the left side maybe.

Excellent news.

I'm hoping this is about Tauscher's healing process and not the communication between the Packers and him. 😉

I will bet my spare left leg that he could have suited up last night and played effectively.. guy isn't a "great" athlete, but one smart football player.

Dare I say Tauscher even playing at an average level is still better than Barbre?

I think so.....

Let's hope the Packers actually get this deal done too. Then let's bring in Levi Jones to backup both Clifton and Tauscher in case one gets hurt.

Packers bringing back Tauscher
Posted by Mike Florio on October 6, 2009 5:03 PM ET

With their good offensive linemen hurt and their healthy offensive linemen not good enough to keep the Vikings from registering eight sacks on Monday night, the Packers are turning to an old friend.

Mark Tauscher.

Per Greg Bedard of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the return of Tauscher to the team is "imminent provided things work out."

Coach Mike McCarthy said earlier in the day that Tauscher had arrived for a workout.

Tauscher made the team as a seventh-round draft pick in 2000, and he started 14 games as a rookie. He spent nine seasons in Green Bay, starting 120 games.

Last week, Tauscher worked out for the Chiefs.

If an agreement can't be reached with Tauscher, the Packers will be signing Tony Mandarich.

We're kidding.

We think.

I totally agree with this. It was incredible naive for the Packers to go into the season with no viable alternative to Barbre at RT and no long-term successor for a 33 year old LT coming off two knee operations.
