Crosby is also kicking off the Frozen Tundra. He's not kicking in a dome, so that's gonna impact his stats too. You not only have a frozen ball and lord knows what kind of field, but you got swirling winds up in the bowl too.
I'd like him to hit more consistently, but if you cut him you gotta replace him. You know he'd get nabbed right away if we released him too.
Also, keep in mind that he's had some sort of abdominal strain of late.
Still, I bet they bring someone in next offseason.

It looks like Crosby's overall percentage has suffered somewhat because of the Packers' efficiency in the red zone these past couple years, which has resulted in more TD's and fewer field goal attempts under 30 yards. So I'm a little more inclined to cut him some slack after seeing these numbers.

I'm still a Crosby skeptic, though. There have been too many times when the announcers tell us how Crosby was drilling them from 60 yards out in warmups, and then in the game he can't kick it straight.

I think fans tend to be too easy on Crosby because his kickoffs are long, and fans like long kickoffs. I like long kickoffs too, but I'll take one more made field goal (okay, maybe two) over a season's worth of long kickoffs.

Thanks, I've adjusted the first post to recognise this.

I think that's accounted for because he's incredibly accurate (well, perfect) inside of 30 yards, but surprisngly inaccurate from there on out. That's why I thought it was interesting to post his totals from different distances rather than just the overall success rate.

I think Crosby would be the first to say that he can do better.

Some of the problem has been holders.
Some of the problem has been weather.
Some of the problem has been his concetration and youth.

I have been a little frustrated with him but I think he will do just fine over the long run.

I'd still cut him some slack. Like i said, he's had many holders, and that DOES matter.
I really think he'll be fine. The preseason he had a revolving door at holder. He will settle down.
