Since there's been quite a few posts on which jerseys to buy where, here's a good video and website which explains how to spot fake jerseys:

Just wanted to also state that I know people are aware that the group buy aren't ACTUALLY Authentic Reebok jerseys. But at least you know what you'll be getting into, and the more understood the better.

For $25, it's a fairly good deal. The shiny numbers thing is annoying, but it's something I can definitely live with. I'd love to have the real deal, but $50 for two jerseys, beats $380.

I figure it like this. If something happens to the jersey, I'm out $25 if it's a fake. If it's the real deal, I'm crying because I spent nearly $200 an one article of clothing and its now ruined because I was an idiot and decided to eat spaghetti with my jersey on and spilled sauce on it.

I am glad that video was posted though. Some day, I am going to own a authentic jersey. Just not in the near future. lol

The only "authentic" ones i have is a Favre home jersey, which i bought at Lambeau when the NFL switched manufactuers, and they were on sale for i believe $100. Then i got a second one there when Ahman Green got let go. I got an away one of his for $50.
But those are the only "real" ones i have.

I have a real one also. A Brett Favre 4. Same place. I also have the great gift of the memory of Brett Favre signing it for me...with me not even asking him to, but rather, Ahman Green asking him to on my behalf.

I can't wear that jersey. It is too precious. I am not a sentimental person by nature, but that whole sequence of events...

I look forward to having a jersey I can slosh a beer on and get over it right then and there.

Great video. Good information.

Here's my 'issue' with it..

If, say, those fake jerseys ARE made in sweatshops.. Why hasn't anyone done anything about it? Not to mention, the mark up price for the real things are absurd. I'm all about capitalism, but I'm also all about competitive prices.

Besides, who's to say that the authentic jerseys aren't made in sweatshops, either?

how many articles of clothing do you have that say US on them? I'm thinking there's more sweatshops than we know about.

And besides, they're still $30,-. Some even more. That should pretty much cover the cost of the labor involved in the fake ones. Maybe even in Europe and the States.

Asking hundreds of dollars on a real jersey is pretty unrealistic. I bet that they have to make quite some expenses, especially with the NFLPA chipping in on it, but they're pretty much asking for fake jerseys to be produced.

I think the licensing to use team names, nfl logo's and things of that nature is where the hefty price tags come in with authentic jerseys. With the China made jerseys, I don't believe they are governed by our laws.
