Don't you just for now chip and release with a tight end on that side to give Babre a hand. I know four and five wides are popular, but not at the expense or your quarterback. Barbre is pretty good mauler in the run game. Let's support the kid and give him a little help to get through.?

The Packers did this on practically every play in the second half (and some in the first) and Barbre still gave up significant pressure and also allowed penetration in his run blocking.

Agreed, not many ends possess the speed/strength ratio of Ogunleye and patience is required here as he gets his feet under him.

But in the first half, he needed some time off the field, gain his composure and we needed a plan B.. Lang isn't ready.. neither apparently is Breno.. Colledge is finally taking off at guard..

Just as it appeared in the offseason.. depth at Tackle is a question and concern..

If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck and shits like a duck.. it is a duck.

I wouldn't re-do the WHOLE offensive line for Barbre. He's not THAT important. Aside from the RT I thought the O-Line played fine. A few misses here and there, but that's football. For the most part the whole line played well. But Rodgers is only going to have as much time as the weakest link gives him.

I'd like to see if Lang can perform in practice this week. I'd go with Barbre one more week, against a weaker team. Everyone has bad games, so that's what I'm taking it as atm.

Problem is that we where doing this. We where backed up against our own end-zone, the RB runs an out out of the back field, chips Ogunleye on his way out and he still gets to Rodgers in 3 seconds.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't expect Barbre to shut down Ogunleye the entire game. He's a first year starter. Nr. 96 really isn't that amazing a defensive end, though. He's not that 15 sacks Miami Dolphins DE, he's a 32 year old guy who has lost a step. The way he was running around Barbre was just embarrising.

I know that we want more consistency on this team and what not, but when our O-line gets fixed, this team is damn near unstoppable. Just look at teams who didn't have much of a pass rush in the pre-season. Rodgers had some time and got into a great rhytm. Go out and sign a FA. Tauscher and Levi both won't need that big a paycheck and we're currently just carrying 9 O-linemen. I don't think that this is the time to gamble on your draft pick linemen. Just shore up the weakness a little.

Sorry to be a downer but how much time are we supposed to give Barbre? The same amount we gave Derrick Frost? There are other options at RT, and lets not forget how Barbre got the job (Giacomini coming off injury, rookie Lang not ready). That's pretty much 'getting the job by default'.

A RT, who can only start to play well when he has TE or RB help, is no use. How can anyone possibly see this guy going from abysmal to great in a couple of games???

He'll get one last chance, but I can guarantee that Giacomini will be on the active gameday roster. That's not to say I think Giacomini is the answer but at least give the guy a shot.

Our coach (apparently) disagrees. He saw the film. He says that they all sucked on the offensive line, not just Barbre (that is what you call an editorially and frustration-laced paraphrase)

He says Allen starts next week.

Hell, maybe it's all Rodgers fault. Worthless pos

I wish we'd bring back Brett.

That is, if we are gonna let Barbre continue to play RT for us.

(Sorry, there is more than a little sarcasm stuck in some crannys of this post in places)

OK--

I'm over it, with the proviso that everyone knows I don't like it.

I don't like it at all.

We won.
