Again, let me say I never said I'm not happy about this victory. I'm saying I think 4th-quarter comebacks are an overrated statistics. They simply mean that the team screwed up in the first three quarters.

Rodgers was getting brutalized the entire game. Fix that and we won't have to rejoice over a 4th-quarter comeback because the game would have been virtually over at halftime. :D

On the other, one positive about the score being so close was that Mike McCarthy wasn't able to ease up on the pedal like he did so many times in the 3rd quarter last year. Maybe close scores will be our ticket to a better record. 😉

W. o. W.

No game ever goes as it 'should'. The perfect game where your QB throws a perfect pass everytime and your WR catch every pass ... just doesn't happen.

Fact is, this was the first game of the season. First time these guys have played 4 consecutive quarters against a team that game planned against them.

Another piece of good information, good teams win close games. Good example would be the Giants and Patriots of '07. The Patriots blew out more than half of their games. Giants lost a few, squeaked by a fair share and won the Super Bowl against the Patriots. Not by a blow out, by winning a close game. Why? Because that is what GOOD teams do. Patriots were good enough to pile on teams, but were not good enough to win close games.

You need to be able to win close games. Packers won a close game against a major rival the first game of the season. Funny thing is, I never noticed a * by a W that said 'ugly win here, should have been a route'. Have you? Didn't think so.

We're on top of the division, we had no major injuries, and Rodgers wasn't limping after the game. I'm happy.

Amen to that. It wasn't like we were playing a team that was a walkover either. I'm ecstatic for Aaron completing his first come-from-behind game winning drive. Yeah I agree that it is a bit overrated as a statistic but I was tired of the Favre homers saying Aaron hasn't proven he can be clutch. I'm bummed I fell asleep before the end of the game and had to watch the highlights. I woke up at about 1 am and still logged into chat. What a throw, way to go Aaron!

Actually he had two last season, but they were both against the Lions. But I'm splitting hairs here, and am glad he did it too. Now let's make sure he never has to do it again! :thumbright:

British is on the mark. I keep hearing all of this "finally!" talk when this is exactly what happened last year. Score the go-ahead with enough time for the other team to get one more possession. This time, however, the D actually showed up and they won the game. The D is NASTY.

What was the statistic that NBC put up about Rodgers winning two previous games from behind against Detroit - how come these games aren't mentioned when the rest of the press talk about Rodgers. I can't remember the games well enough.

Because it's Detroit and USC would beat Detroit, I guess.

Do you want to be known for HAVING to come from behind against the Lions last year, twice?

It's because they weren't last minute drives. They were game winning drives in the 4th quarter if I remember correctly (I may not - I tried to forget all of last season).
