Ruvell has never proven to be a reliable receiver. I am not saying Swain or Finley have either. But they showed up and they earned the job, while Martin was dropping punts and doing other stuff Ted and Mike did not like. He was Rodgers bud and that did not stop Packers from cutting him.

Ruvell was developing for 5 years already, that's a long time to only be a #5 WR. I think we have improved more with Nelson and Jones being productive and working hard. And Finley, wow, I hope the hype followsthrough on this kid. I haven't been excited about a TE for our team since Chewy.

From what I see Swain improved over last year to a point the coaches must have felt they have a guy that can continue to be a better WR and Martin had pretty much shown his ceiling as a player.

If two guys like this are very close and one is younger and shows that 2nd year improvement they look for then you go with the guy fairly even now but having more upside.

I know I heard Swain's name mentioned a lot this year in camp plus he can do some things on ST's Martin cannot do which made it easier.

I think the fact we're talking so much about our 5th receiver bodes well for this season. If we have to dig so deep for things to worry about, we must be feeling pretty optimistic overall.

Well, like I have been saying all along, we should have drafted Crabtree.

Agreed. Even more significantly, the main bitch about this team in the preseason was the poor performance of the THIRD-STRING quarterback.

I dunno, did anyone pay attention to the water boy/girl situation. Were they out there hydrating our players at a championship level? Hydration = Championships. I'm concerned about our depth there.

I agree atm I am happy we didnt draft him - reversal what I felt before. Dont need the huge money loss and non-player; imagine the guy waiting till next draft to go at it again.
