The Vikings suddenly have the deepest group of receivers in the NFC North

I very much doubt this as well.

Bernard Berrian is such an overrated receiver. He's a burner, but has been very mediocre statistically. Wade and Rice are 3s on most teams. They could start on a team like the 49ers, but they're really not that great.

Now, for Harvin... he's an exceptional athlethe. They have a very special kid here if he can keep his head straigth and focus on football instead of... extracurricular activities. Still, he's a 1st year guy and normally they don't tend to produce a whole lot. I'm just hoping he won't.

This is the kind of shit I have to listen to on a daily basis, Formo and VR wonder why I get a little passionate about hating the Vikings.

Seifert flatters himself thinking that anyone could possibly want more Vikings and Favre news in an NFC North blog.

He all but states that the blog will be dedicated primarily to looking at the division through the lens of Favre's sojourn in Minnesota. It's annoying.

At last count, Siefert has 585 Packers posts, 592 Bears posts, 596 Lions posts, and 745 Vikings posts. Balanced coverage, my ass!

I agree about Berrian. He's got to be one of the most overrated players in the league at least when you factor in the attention he gets.

I'll take Derrick Mason of Baltimore over him any day and Mason gets hardly any attention at all.

I could see Rice emerging, but not because of Favre, but because he's finally ready to play in the NFL. Had he stayed in college another year, there was talk he could've been a top 20 pick. He's a real talent in my opinion although I haven't seen anything to suggest he will emerge.

I think its really unfair to compare wrs from the Vikes, Bears, Steelers and Ravens because they are more run oriented offenses and in the case of the Vikes and Bears they havent had a qb that could pass the ball more than 10 yds lol.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Bobby Wade is a joke, Harvin is unproven and Berrian is an overpaid career #2. Who are the others again?

Well.. so much for this claim.. ;)

The Minnesota Vikings have released veteran wide receiver Bobby Wade, the team's leading receiver the last two years, according to his agent, Jerome Stanley.

"You're defined by your behavior and what you do and not what you say," Stanley said. "I'll let you connect the dots."

Asked if he were referring to Vikings coach Brad Childress, Stanley said, "Wherever the decision came from. And we already know where it came from, so there it is."

Last week, Wade had agreed to cut his base salary in half to about $1.5 million.

The team is expected to fill his spot by reuniting Vikings coach Childress with former Philadelphia Eagles receiver Greg Lewis, according to a person close to the situation. Lewis, 29, is at Winter Park today and expected to practice.

Undrafted in 2003 out of Illinois, Lewis endeared himself to Childress, then the Eagles' offensive coordinator, as well as other players and coaches with his work ethic and professionalism.

In six NFL seasons, Lewis has 23 starts, but he has 127 catches for 1,699 yards with seven touchdowns. During the offseason, the Eagles traded him to the New England Patriots for a seventh-round pick. But Lewis was one of the Patriots' last cuts, released to make room for rookie defensive back Bret Lockett.

Martha Careful (3h) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (3h) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (3h) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (5h) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (5h) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (5h) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (8h) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (9h) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (16h) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (16h) : and there's the dagger

beast (18h) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (18h) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (19h) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (19h) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (19h) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (20h) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (20h) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (20h) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (20h) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (22h) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.

Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : DAGGER
TheKanataThrilla (19-Jan) : pass plays
TheKanataThrilla (19-Jan) : Seems some of their passes are too deep. Reminds me of MLF as well.
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : Oren Burks with a clutch pass break up...I will now light myself on fire
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : a run on 2nd down and 17 from McVay? So that's where MLF gets it from!
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : Do or die time for the Rams
TheKanataThrilla (19-Jan) : Kicking field goals are impressive
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : Oh that might be a backbreaker
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : That's what I thought too, just wasn't sure
TheKanataThrilla (19-Jan) : Kicking doesn't make much sense
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : If the Rams score a TD on the upcoming drive, they go for 2, right?
TheKanataThrilla (19-Jan) : Stafford is pretty good with 4th quarter comebacks. I would like to see it.
