Those statistics say he played in 13 games, but that's just the number of games he was on the gameday activated list. I wonder in how many games he actually stepped foot on the field and got touches (45 attempts for the entire year?). The guy is chronically injured. He shows flashes of brilliance when he plays, but he's not reliable. You have to be available if you intend to hold down a roster spot.

Who knows. Maybe I'm blowing things out of proportion. All I know is that if I were a coach, I'd far rather have a reliable guy on my team (ala Sutton) than a brilliant player who can never stay healthy.

From what I've seen, he doesn't have the extensive injury history of Wynn, Jackson, or Lumpkin.

If it is a serious ankle injury, he simply wouldn't be cut. He'd just be put on IR.

It's kind of sad that there is a rumor that packers are going to cut Smith. Why was there no rumor when we had signed Frank Walker two years ago. That guy came out to be garbage. Packers should not cut Smith because we need that depth at that position.

I seem to remember him blocking an extra-point (or a field goal) in a post-season game for Baltimore.

He's been solid enough for the Ravens, but he's no more than their 4th string corner. I don't think he'd have be unseating Woodson, Harris or Williams anytime soon if the Packers re-signed him in 2008.

I don't think either he would unseat them either, but he wasn't an Ahmad Carroll, he was a decent 4th or 5th CB. I think he was the nickel CB for the Ravens last year, and according to the depth chart on their web page (non-official), it looks like he has that same spot now.

If you watched the Arizona game you saw Anthony Smith making plays and punishing Cardinals players. Then why is their talk he is going to be released? That's right, Smith's days are short for the Green and Gold according to what we've learned.

We hope that someway the appropriate decision is made a Smith makes the team.

I am shocked to a point that they cut Smith.. MM must have really had an issue with the kid.
