If I'm wrong I'll gladly admit that I'm wrong, but I can debunk this rumor with common sense.

Aaron Rouse has PUP written all over him heading into the season and that's if he makes it.

Collins and Bigby are locks.

Bush should be in there as well because GB wants to be better on special teams and Bush is one of the teams' best special teams players.

That leaves the last spot to Peprah and Smith.

No way they don't keep Smith especially with his knowledge of the defense and his play has just been solid this preseason. Peprah's hasn't. Unless they decide to keep three safeties which seems slim given the injury history of Atari Bigby, I don't see how Smith doesn't make the team.

I think GB has a better chance of cutting Brandon Jackson than they do Anthony Smith right now.

Why not just ask one of the players on Twitter?

I hope we keep him. I'd be shocked if we didnt. IMO, he should be the 3rd safety. He's flashy,a ballhog, and he has better coverage skills than Rouse at this point. He's playing well this pre season, no reason to cut him.
Plus, I gotta root for the local guy!

If this happens I'll be "flustrated."

Personally I think there's room on our roster for a few guys with a little extra moxie. If Smith is a little cocky, so be it. He has played well and they brought him in because they were high on him. His experience in the defense is a bonus.

Getting rid of Smith would seem uncharacteristic, particularly taking into account our depth at safety.

I suppose I've been confused before on front office decisions (i.e. Jon Ryan gettin' the boot last year).
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

I doubt he'll be released as scout reports have him battling Bigby for the starting position from this week on...Wouldnt make sense to just cut a guy who is endangering another man's spot...

I agree that Brandon Jackson's roster spot is in greater danger than Smith's. ESPN is saying that his ankle injury is worse than originally anticipated.

It would seem odd, but we do have some good players at that position. Maybe package him with some other cuttable but good players and get a real punter.

i still haven't figured out why there is talk jackson's roster spot is in jeapordy this entire offseason. last season he played great as a change of pace back when grant needed a rest. it seems every time he touched the ball he was picking up solid yardage and honestly looked a lot more elusive than grant ever did last season.

stats from last season:

Season Team Rushing Receiving Fumbles
G GS Att Yds Avg Lng TD Rec Yds Avg Lng TD
13 0 45 248 5.5 32 1 30 185 6.2 18 0

looks pretty good to me.
