I think putting Rouse on IR would help us a lot. He's not really shown he's the man at S, stiff hips and bad angles. But he has upside so stick him on IR and bring him back next year.

Rumor) I heard it from a guy who heard it from a guy that chevy is bringing out the new camaro.

Insider) I spoke with a guy inside chevy that TOLD ME the camaro will be out said date.

Maybe my problem was in calling it a hot rumor. If your source is close to the tell him not to pull an Icarus. I am also SURE that dom has say in personnel not final mind you but heavy input.

Notebook: Bigby pushed by Smith for starting safety's job

Also taken from the article

"The Packers are optimistic Bigby will come around, even if his numbers two solo tackles in roughly six preseason quarters suggest he has a ways to go.

Smith, meanwhile, has been one of the preseason standouts, registering eight solo tackles, a sack, two interceptions and five passes defended in extended time with the No. 2 defense, plus 2 series with the starters on Friday at Arizona after Bigby left with a sprained thumb.

Smith was visible in practice again on Monday, intercepting starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers twice and almost getting a third. He also took a 2-minute series with the starters, although Bigby said that was only because he told Smith to take his place."

I like bigby ... but smith is showing things that I really enjoy ... whom doesnt like sacks, interceptions and a hard hitting safety? ... used to love collins hits last year on receivers - now we get another hard hitting safety.

Oh now its dumb as hell. Well that's fine I spose. Was pointing out that you had insider info and not a "hot rumor"
Car analogy was to illustrate the point. Apparentley I need to do more painting by colors for a guy like like you huh.
I am therefor I think.

Hey, guys, let's try to keep it cordial here.

55sandman, I'm not sure getting defensive is in order here, especially when your only self-appointed role on this forum is to purvey hot rumors from a source ostensibly close to the sun. I think there will always be some understandable skepticism when anonymous sources are used. If the information turns out to be correct, you've made a great prediction. If nothing happens, there's no accountability, no way of knowing what, if anything, was said behind the scenes, or if the anonymous source -- or the person spreading the rumor -- was making everything up for the sake of garnering attention or some other motive. It's only human nature to be a little skeptical about a setup like that.

My advice: Let your rumors stand on their own two legs. If they come to fruition, you look like a genius. If they don't, you're not too heavily invested in them.

It seems highly unlikely that the Packers will cut Smith, especially if Tom Pelissero has him 'pushing for the starting job.' With Rouse's injury at safety cutting Smith would leave the only healthy back-ups as Charlie Peprah and Jarrett Bush. Regardless of Attitude I'm sure the Packers would rather have a mouthy Smith back there than the perpetually ineffective Bush and Peprah.

We are quite liberal in the moderation of this forum. We do not utilize a word filter, or rarely censor profanity if it is felt that the author is using it in an artistic and or illustrative way. Sometimes we do not censor commentary that is personal in nature, if we feel that the parties involved know each other well enough to work it out, etc.

This can confuse folks, but is a price we pay to keep the forum full of personality.

All that being said, kindly cease any further personal attacks against one another on this thread...shoe fits wear it, etc. Everybody got their shot in, for those keeping score.

NSD & jbshell04,

Nobody is being defensive (forgive my response if you think it was below the belt)... sometimes it's hard trying to read a post/reply and not assume someone is being playful or mean spirited. I was being playful ok, I thought it was cool to take shots at people on this forum without it getting personal. Everyone has a right to their opinion and I respect whatever someone's take is. Believe me, I'm not taking any of this serious this is just fun for me. I believe we all have real lives to manage... why else do we get on sites like these and post our thoughts.

We are all big boys and girls right? It'll be fun to read the responses if Smith doesn't get cut. I'm sure people will serve my head on a plate, but remember I like Smith and stated I hope it isn't true. The kid can play.

So let's have fun and enjoy the Packers.

FWIW-

I enjoy the rumors themselves. A lot of the time I don't enjoy the news being conveyed, but that is different, isn't it?

That is a personal observation, thought it should be out there, but has nothing to do with people jumping on one another.

Some people hate this kind of thing, some people love it, and everything in between.

If you are going to have them, you are going to have them in forums such as these.

This is the internet.

Bush > Smith

Why? Because Bush is a special teams stud. Smith is not.

That's all there is to it.

Who would you rather have back there at safety Smith or Bush? I'd take Smith myself.

Not if that #2 SS is forced to start 10 games. You can have your gunner, but you are screwed if one of the starters go down.
